8/15/09 Biggest Loser Season 8

Yikes it's been way to long since I've updated this thing. Life is good quite honestly I am still focused on my quest to live a healthy lifestyle. I'm not focusing as much on the weight loss as I was earlier in the year which is why I haven't updated but working out and eating healthy is still extremely important to me.

Anyways onto bigger and better things at the moment like Season 8 of the Biggest Loser!

I cannot tell you how excited I am to be watching this I am already in love with the contestants and their stories. I cannot wait to learn more about them.

First challenge is the last mile of the biggest loser marathon. The prize is immunity and choosing their partner for the season. I am so excited to see Daniel from Season 7 and that he's back!

The opening challenge was a little scary with Tracy. Girl you finished the race you totally rocked that race. She was medivacced out. :( She finished the race though which is what her goal was I am so proud of her for that.

8/17/09

Soooooooooo I'm back yet again. I was so sick last week. Thankfully I had antibiotics that I hadn't filled so I found relief pretty fast but it was still a very trying week and I still have a really bad cough to show for it. Eating wise last week I did great I wasn't hungry. Workout wise HA HA HA if I can't breathe I am not working out.

So this weekend I started feeling better and did workout. I went swimming for 3 hours and it was excellent.

So we come to today:
B: 1 piece of apricot bread
S: carrots and dip
L: smoked chicken and broccoli salad
S: frosted mini wheats (1/2 serving)

Workouts:
I ran for 23 straight minutes this morning WAHOOO!! Roo and I did the neighborhood twice this morning 1.5 of it was running. I am so excited so super excited.
Then I did a WATP miracle mile when I got home because Roo wanted to march march.
Then after work I did a tae bo contact video 45 minutes with lots of punches and very few kicks.
Then we took a family walk tonight it was nice.
Then we did shoulders and arms of p90x

Goals:
2500 calories
10K steps
1:50 of moderate workout
10 min of vigorous

What it is at this moment in time:
2532 calories and there is still time in the day
13K steps
2:11 of moderate
26 of vigorous

I'm pretty happy with my first day back to working out.

Workouts so far: 1 mile WATP, morning walk of 1.5 miles 10 minutes of it jogging, Jillian Michaels no more trouble zones 40 minutes,

Man it feels soooooooooo good to be back and to be focused. I did not realize how much I missed working out how much a part of it had become until I stopped. For the two months where I slacked off on working out I felt like I was missing something now I remember what it was. The rest of this weight is going to come off whether it likes it or not!


I am on day 6 today of no diet cokes I think I am at the I will survive point.

8/2/09 Total Focus

It dawned on me last night that I am now at 53 days until Disney. That means I have 53 days to get in shape. My goal has been to be close to unrecognizable to friends because it has been so long since they have seen me at a healthy weight. One friend has never seen me in person at a healthy weight. I want this and I need this for me!

So starting again (man have I been saying that a lot lately) I am 100% focused on eating and exercise. I have been remaining focused on my eating but the exercise had dropped off but no more. We are back to the focus.

Breakfast today was fruit 1/3 peach, 1/3 plum, grapes, and 1 clementine w/ water
Snack was 1 cookie
Lunch was spinach artichoke lasagna made from scratch last night
Snack was sugar free ice cream w/ bananas and a drizzle of chocolate
Dinner will be a roast beef wrap w/ a serving of chips
Snack will be fruit

Workouts: 3 mile walk/jog this morning. I got my vigorous level of exercise by 10:00 AM!
This afternoon we did p90x cardio OUCH! It has been 2 months to long and I can totally tell. Oh well I can and will get it back. I have 53 days!

Goals: 2500 calories

I made it! I hit a new decade life is good. I hope I pass through this one just as fast as the last and hit my goal!

4 years ago tonight I was at Disney World watching Wishes and celebrating the fact that I would be marrying the man of my dreams tomorrow. 2 years ago tonight I was celebrating the fact that we had a due date for my daughter and that I would be meeting my princess.

Life is good even with the bad and the doubts and the questions.

The biggest question I have had this week when thinking back is if some people had kept their thoughts to themselves about how they viewed my marrying a man who did not go to church if our relationship would be different and less strained than it is now. I really do wonder if there are times they regret saying what they did and if they wish that we had a better relationship than we do. I wonder if time will ever heal the hurt that went down then and in the next 6 months after that. I don't know if it will because I do not think either of us will ever back down from our own beliefs. I do not feel that what was said should have ever been discussed or talked about that there are times of if you have nothing nice don't say anything at all. Oh and don't discuss my relationship with people who A. do not know me and B. do not know my husband in fact not only do the people that were spoken to not know my husband those that were doing the speaking didn't know him that well either since there was no communication between them when we tried to make sure that they got to know each other.

What I do know is that I married my better half and nothing will ever change that. I do wish that there wasn't such drama with people that went down around it. I had enough going on then with Grandad dying the week before the wedding to have to deal with the stress of wondering if someone were going to say they disapproved of the wedding when asked for objections. With all the good that stands out in regards to memories it's really hard to have the bad memories still sitting right there with it. Time supposedly heals all wounds and these still feel fresh after 4 years so maybe when I'm 100 I won't remember anymore or maybe by then you'll know my husband well enough to know you made a mistake in your thoughts about him. A girl can dream ya know?

7/19/09 All Day

So I'm out of hiding HA HA HA! The week was a crazy one and nights were spent with the family. I need to get in the routine of writing again and finding a certain time of day to reflect and to record life in Roo's (my daughter's nickname for those who do not know this already) blog.

This weekend was a fabulous one with several huge accomplishments. First it was relaxing SCORE!

Saturday we went to swimming lessons with Roo and then we went to my parents for lunch. They offered to take us out since I had run the airport shuttle for their trip and I was quick to suggest a chinese restaurant that had returned to the area after a way to long hiatus and I really wanted to see if it was as good as I had remembered. It was. I had the wonton soup w/ shrimp and broccoli, I ate a tiny bit of the rice and split the egg roll with a hungry little girl (she had her own food but she was all about sharing off our plates too) Then for dinner we had a home made philly cheesesteak sandwich and we made some guacamole. It was really good. I went to bed early and slept for 11 hours and I feel human again I don't know how long it has been since I have felt this refreshed but it's a great feeling!

Today I woke up late and we went out for a family walk which was nice. We got home got cleaned up and went to California Pizza Kitchen for their chopped salad (which D and I split) and a hawaiian bbq pizza (which D and I not only split but brought over half of home) and then we went shopping at Ikea which is dangerous for me LOL! We got home and had a quarter cinnamon roll from Ikea (which I bought because they just came out of the oven) and spent time doing some last minute things in Roo's big girl room. I swear we're so close but yet so far......Then for dinner we had some black bean tamales and some baked chips. Then dessert was frozen yogurt with some aw root beer sauce on top. We found that at le gourmet and OMG it is GOOD!!!! We had another walk this evening and I hit my steps. The first time in a week. EEK!

Weight wise tomorrow is WI but for two days in a row I have been in a new decade weight wise. I'll hope that it sticks for tomorrow!

7/15/09

Ok I am out of hiding.

I don't remember if I posted last week but I hit my 20 lbs gone for the year. 20 lbs that's a lot! I don't feel that I have been working as hard at losing lately with the heat because our walks at night have been pretty much cut out. I just can't do it when the thermometer says 107 and that's not a heat index temp.......

However I have noticed a huge difference in my portion sizes and I know that has to be why I am losing. The sizes have gotten much smaller from what they were a year ago. We went to Jasons Deli on Sunday and I had to bring half of my sandwich home. It was HUGE and a year ago I would have housed that entire thing but now I had half and fruit and I was done.

I feel great about how I am doing because I am seeing big physical changes. I have 15 lbs to go for my first goal and honestly if I reach that goal I think I will be happy with it and will stay at it if at all possible.

Life has been changing and it's all for the better. Some big decisions have been made and the family is going to benefit from it and I cannot wait.

7/8/09

Hey all I am still here I am still logging everything but stress levels have been high and I haven't been able to sit down and actually put my thoughts together.

There's a lot going on. There are a lot of crossed fingers at the moment but life is good and at the end of the day I have a family that loves me and that is what matters.

I hit 20 lbs lost today since January. I'm happy, REALLY happy! I'm not pushing the cardio as much as I should be right now really just doing the walking at the moment which is not good but until I can get some sleep I can't really function enough to lift weights. I want to get back to p90x and hope that next week will bring back the energy.

Refocusing on the blog

I lost another poud this week and lost 3 lbs for the month of june. I am down 18 lbs for the year. I am happy.

I ate a sonic burger and fries for lunch and that's all I ate all day. Why you may ask well it's been so long since I have had fast food that it didn't set well at all and I got really sick after. I remember the last time I was off fast food for a long time and I had the same reaction so I've learned no fast food for me. *sigh* I will miss the once in awhile burger and fries but ya know the turkey burgers we make at home are even better tasting so yeah ok I'll miss the fries because although home fries are good they're just not the same.

Ok I'm really trying to refocus this thing since I am feeling a tiny smidge better.

We had this: http://www.kraftfoods.com/kf/recipes/greek-isles-pasta-salad-106259.aspx I added chicken and unfortunately could not find the greek vinigarette at my local store so I used the vidalia onion and roasted peppers and YUM! I had the whole can of garbanzo beans, and yes black olives, oh and a cucumber too. Roo had 3 plates full! It will be a regular on our menu rotation now.

I am still feeling kind of blech but I have more energy right now than I have had in a few days so hopefully the end of this junk is in sight!

6/15/09 Weigh In

I weighed in today and my weight was the same it had been most of the week which is a 1.2 loss from last week. WAHOOOOOOOOOOO!!

I am down 9.4 since getting the go wear fit on March 31st. I am down 2.4 for this month.

My body fat percentage is now 38.2 which is also way down.

I am hoping to try power 90 tonight but I'll see how the energy is holding up.

6/14/09 All Day

I finally gave in last night and went to the doctor and as he looked at my throat he was like WOW this is really infected. No duh. Then he checked my glands and was like these are so swollen are they tender. I was like so my jumping 15 feet in the air backwards wasn't enough to indicate that?? And then of course the wow your cough sounds horrible. Yeah got that too and that's why I am here I want sleep, I crave sleep, I'm not sleeping. So I got a shot, and two prescriptions to fill and I'm on the road to recovery. I actually did sleep last night and I am feeling better right now for the first time in almost three weeks so maybe that is all I needed. I don't know why I always wait to long before I go see a doc actually I do it's because I don't want them to think I'm a hypochondriac like my old doctor always insinuated I was so I now wait to long which is not good either. *sigh* I actually still have not gone to see my new doctor which I know I need to remedy very soon.

Yesterday I felt so horrible because the cough was so hard that it was causing me to feel nausesous.

Workouts: lots of walking at work today, family walk, and power 90 strength!! p90x is still not within my abilities so we did power 90 and it was excellent to be back in the routine. I am shaking at the moment from tired muscles but it was so worth it. I feel like I am back slowly but surely. Now if only my throat would quit hurting and if only the cough would stop.

Have you ever noticed if you're sick you just do not have the attention span tht you normally do? I am so disappointed that I haven't forced myself to blog everyday but exhaustion wins out right now. I think I am at the point I am ready to go to care now but have to much to do before I can. If I am not feeling 100% by Sunday I will be there.

6/3/09 All Day

This week has BLOWN for workouts. I didn't get my lunch walk because it was raining and when I tried to walk the building I was getting run over by others trying to do the same thing. Tonight I just couldn't make my body run even though we did do some extra distance walking wise while Roo would allow it. Then p90x yeah well ummmmmm I fell asleep in the lazy boy while holding a sleeping Roo so that didn't happen either. The nap was worth it though and showed me how tired I really was I need sleep tonight REALLY need sleep since that hasn't happened that much either. I was only at 59% the night before. So based on my non scientific study you must have plenty of sleep in order to be able to push yourself. I do have to say though that my nap tonight with Roo was some of the best rest I have had this week.

So I will be reaching none of my goals today and I am going to have to be ok with that.

BUT I did run for 15 minutes tonight so I am THRILLED! My distances are getting much better everyday which to me is a success!

Today is my birthday so to celebrate I didn't do p90x LOL!

For breakfast I had a pig in the blanket and 2 donut holes.

Dinner was some spinach artichoke dip, and a salad.
Snack was cake and lemonade w/ a touch of peach schnapps.

45 minute walk this morning
30 minute WATP
40 minute family walk
15 minute run and cool down walk. I survived a 15 minute run!

I hit my goals just not the p90x but tonight was a night of celebration not workouts.

5/30/09 and 5/31/09 All Day

Yesterday was a free day but we honestly did not do bad but workouts weren't there. We went to Little Gym and then took Roo to my parents so we could have a date day. We fixed a small chicken salad sandwich on a croissant at their house and then went to the mall and walked for two hours. I got to buy clothes that are a size smaller than I was wearing a month ago I am HAPPY! Then we came home and I got dressed up as did D and we headed to Melting Pot where we had the big night out. We had the spinach artichoke for starter, I had a caesar salad, then we had the fondue fusion meat choice which was delish! Then 1/2 of the banana foster chocolate. One problem I had was with one of the small flavored dips they bring for you to try with the meats and the such. My mom is highly allergic to curry seasoning so I have always tried to stay away from it but I had to try the curry dip........It didn't end well but the meal was so beyond worth it that I really didn't care but I'm now going to stay away from all curry seasonings no questions asked.

Today was a great day. I had life cereal for breakfast a slice of market street pizza for lunch and swedish meatballs for dinner. Workouts let's see there was the family walk this morning, another walk tonight, a run tonight, and then p90x back and shoulders. I forgot the gwf for part of the morning so with it I will not hit all my goals but I did the time so I am THRILLED!!!

Tomorrow is my birthday so I know eating is going to be off some because there will be cake and there will be a special dinner but I plan on getting some great workouts in before I eat. :)

5/29/09 All Day

I am seriously about to fall over. I have been pushing myself so hard and it feels so good in so many ways but during p90x tonight I made it half way through and was like I'm done so here I am watching D do Kenpo and I'm typing this up so I can go to bed and sleep.

Short and sweet I am about to fall over. What is it about long weekends that makes it so hard to go back to work?

I joined a fitness challenge today and so for the next 30 days starting tomorrow my goal is to hit my go wear fit goal EVERY DAY which is 10K steps, 1:50 moderate and 10 minutes of vigorous. I will do p90x 6 days a week and follow the program and progress upwards to the next phases. I am going to Disney in September and will be meeting up with friends I haven't seen since last year (boo) anyway I do not want to be recognizable if that makes sense. I want there to be a marked improvement in how I look before then so I must focus and stay there. I will be pushing myself to a new level of me and I cannot wait.

Oh and just to show that I am taking my challenge seriously I started today.
I got 178 minutes of moderate and 14 of vigorous. I got 12881 steps so far. And I did p90x shoulders and arms.

THen we did p90x plyometrics last night and all I can say is OUCH!

I am back, it's good to be back and man have I missed blogging strange how it becomes habit so soon ya know?

5/20/09 All Day

I've been an emotional wreck today but I have done very well with eating. Exercise not so much. The incident from yesterday was still very much with me and had me worried that it would happen again and trying to figure out how I really felt about it etc......The situation isn't anything terrible but I don't want Roo to be a target for a biter. Anyway at the end of the roller coaster day I have a plan I am happy with and that D is happy with and that Roo will deal with LOL! It makes sense for us in a lot of different ways and for many different reasons so we are at peace with it finally.

For breakfast I had about a half serving of life cereal I really was not hungry. I forced down an apple and string cheese for snack. Then for lunch I had 2.5 tamales and rice (leftovers from last night) I skipped my afternoon snack because I was really upset and really worried about Roo. I really felt for the first time that I was a bad parent and that I couldn't protect her and that it was my job to keep her safe and I was failing. We went and toured a new place and we're talking about making the switch. I'm still undecided because I know bites happen anywhere but I really feel that it's just happened to much. *sigh* We got home and made some flounder and shells and cheese for dinner.

Workouts today were a family walk followed by a real fast intense walk followed by just movement around the house playing and dancing. It wasn't what I wanted but a lack of sleep from last night (because Roo got up twice very odd) made much more impossible to even remotely comprehend.

Tomorrow will be a better day and we're doing p90x even if I am falling over. I miss it and I know that our being lax on it is why I have not lost weight this month. Back on the program so I am at goal by September!

5/19/09 All Day

I am having a really hard time right now and am really upset about something that happened at Roo's daycare she got bit again and I am just torn up about it. :( This is the third or fourth time in three weeks.

I had life cereal and a banana for breakfast. Snack was string cheese. Lunch was a sandwich w/ a serving of carrots and my afternoon snack was a sliver off a piece of pizza. Dinner was a black bean tamale, a pork tamale, some rice a roni and guacamole. Evening snack was skipped because my stomach hurts right now.

Workouts I walked at lunch and I did the family walk tonight. We've spent the evening talking about what we want to do with daycare and how we are feeling about it so p90x was put to the side. I wish parenting were easier sometimes I really do.

5/18/09 Family Fitness

One thing that we have found that is a lot of fun for the family is to turn on a dvd and dance to it and play follow the leader in a very active way around the house. Roo likes to lead and she gets very creative in some of her movements which makes it even more fun for us as adults!

5/18/09 All Day

Today got off to a rough start. I would have been thrilled to sleep for about 5 more hours. I wish that weekends were not so short. Oh well next weekend is a holiday weekend and I am taking an extra day off and heading west to see my mother in law so there will be time to relax then. And yes I am actually really excited to go although I hate the drive I love my in-laws.

Since D had to go to work I got up at 7 with Roo and we went for a quick powerwalk before Sesame Street. I wasn't quite all together with it so we didn't go up and down every street but we made it through in record time. We got home and I was going to make scrambled eggs (aka eggbeaters) but Roo let me know cereal was the food of choice so I went with it. That worked since the frying pan was in the sink.......She started watching Sesame Street and I started working. We stopped for a yogurt snack at 10 and of course we did the trash truck dance. Seriously why is watching a trash truck so entertaining? I don't understand but ok!

Lunch was a sandwich and a serving of chips. Roo had hers soaked in water. What you may ask well ask her she very deliberately dumped her water on her food and then she ate it. Not something I would do but it apparentely worked for her today. Blech! Then we went for another walk before the nonexistant nap. Yeah she decided napping was for the birds today and refused makes for a cranky kid let me tell ya!

We split an apple for snack. Dinner was salmon, rice, and tomato/cucumber/pepper vinegar salad. We went for our family walk and then we did Kenpo when a little girl was down for the night.

I am tired myself and ready for bed..........

5/17/09

Today was a great day for being a family. We got up and goofed around the house before we headed to Sam's to stock up on quite a few things that we were almost out of like ohhhhhhhhh toilet paper So yeah things that one never wants to be out of in life. I skipped breakfast and snack and never figured out why I was just to focused on the fact that people were coming over to hopefully buy the stuff we had listed. Anyway they had set appointment times so I was worried we were going to be late.

When we got home we got hte car unloaded and started working on lunch. We had chili dogs because they were fast and simple. They were really good! We had the fat free dogs, whole wheat buns, and turkey chili YUM!

I skipped afternoon snack too because we were headed to a party this evening and I wanted to make sure I had plenty of room to eat. :)

And YUM the food was delish! I had 2 fajitas w/ steak and chicken, onions, bell pepper, and cheese. I also had a small margarita and although it was super hard I stayed away from the cake. I mean it was HARD but it was not on the plan for today.

We didn't get our workouts in because of people coming over. I am disappointed in myself for that one but tomorrow is a new week and I will be hitting it super hard! It was kind of nice to relax this weekend and let my body rest up so look out next week!

5/16/09 All Day

I am barely able to keep my eyes open right now as I type this so it's going to be much briefer than I want. I think I am fighting allergies or the such. BOO!

I woke up looked at the clock and almost flipped because I had slept late and we had to all be ready and out of the house by 8:30 in order to be at Little Gym on time. I literally hit the road running but we made it out the door with a baggie of life cereal for breakfast. I was hungry what can I say....We made it to class on time and had a lot of active fun doing all sorts of things and watching Roo lead us to what she wanted to do. That is why we love this class because she gets to lead and we follow. She gets to have fun doing things geared towards her age and we get to learn as she does. I LOVE IT!!!!!!

We stopped at Market Street on the way home and picked up a lot of food for the week. I got some great looking fish that I cannot wait to try! I am in my fish mood again UH OH! LOL!!!

For lunch we had a sandwich and some baked potato salad. YUMMERS!!!!!

Afternoon snack was some pretzels. Dinner was beef and broccoli w/ brown rice YUM! Then evening snack was some chips and some seafood salad. I'm telling you I am in a fishy mood right now.......

Workouts today were little gym this morning and we took a 1 hour walk tonight. We were going to do p90x but we were expecting some people to come over and pick stuff up that we were selling on Craig's List so we didn't get started and I am slightly aggravated because they decided they're going to come tomorrow so we could have done it GRR!

Oh well tomorrow will be a strong workout day before we go celebrate with a friend for their birthday. So it has to be a strong workout day because I am going to want to eat LOL!

5/15/09 All Day

We're having a really rough night over here so this is going to be extremely brief.

We woke up and went for a 2 mile walk/job with mainly jogging at the end to make it home in time for Sesame Street. We made it! Roo and I shared a bowl of life cereal for breakfast. For snack we had goldfish. For lunch I had spaghetti leftovers and Roo had her chicken tender leftovers w/ mashed potatos and corn. For afternoon snack it was angel food cake w/ strawberries and ff cool whip. Dinner was 2 oz of turkey w/ steamed broccoli and stovetop stuffing. Evening snack was not had because we're trying to get a little girl to sleep.

Workouts: 2 mile walk jog this morning, 40 min WATP, and a 2 mile family walk tonight. No p90x because we're trying to get a little girl to go to bed. I hope she crashes soon this is NOT normal!

5/14/09 All Day

I woke up and hopped in the shower to get ready for the day and I went and packed my meals. I was heading to get my drivers license renewed first thing and yeah well that didn't go so well since I didn't have cash. So I went to the PO to pick up a package and waited in line for 40 minutes and then at the front I didn't have my work id to prove that I was at all attached to said package but when i asked to talk to the supervisor they handed it over. Then I went to the bank to get cash and my ATM card didn't work and I found out that if it's not used once every 3 months it will expire. UMmmmmmmmmm who made that rule? Seriously THREE months? You have to be kidding me! I was like it's my debit card too which yeah I never use but if I ever need it I expect it to be there. GRRRRRR! Anyway I ended up with my cash and a new card has been ordered. I then made it to work where I chowed down on my cheerios.

For morning snack I had a 1/2 portion size of a cinnamon roll that someone had brought in. I am really proud of me for this one because cinnamon rolls are a trigger food for me but even though I sliced a 1/2 portion of one I didn't eat all of that. It wasn't worth it to me. So YAY me!

Lunch was leftover pizza which was good and I got to eat all of the sausage that was on it which is usually hard because Roo loves sausage and eats it all off of mine.

Afternoon snack was skipped because I left work at 3 to go back to DPS to get my liscense and I am happy to say that I got it. D had to work late so I went to daycare to pick up a Roo girl and I just have to say that the second she saw me and recognition set in she screamed MY MAMA and ran over and gave me the biggest hug and kiss and looked at her teacher and went MY MAMA. Then she snuggled in that is the absolute best feeling in the world. I loved it and it took all the bad from this morning away.

We made a stop at Target and then home to cook dinner. We had high fiber spaghetti w/ ragu (lazy sorry) and mixed in chicken italian sausage which was DELISH!! I really loved every single bite!

It as then time for the family walk and it wasn't really a walk it was a run with a little bit of walking. I am so proud of what I have done with that today.

We got home struggled through the bath, did night night, and came down to watch Grey's Anatomy. We did some exercises and walking while watching that. It's not a show I normally watch but I had to see what happened to Izzy.

So my go wear fit results for the day. Right now I am at 2800 calories burned (my goal per day is 2500) I am at 10439 steps (goal is 10K) moderate activity is 2:31 (goal is 1:50) vigorous activity is: 17 (goal is 10) I have kicked it today and I am so proud of me!

I did not have a chance to find a new workout so I will be looking tomorrow then this weekend I will be finding everything for the next week.

5/13/09 Article Review

The weight loss article I chose this week is going from my love of the biggest loser. It was an interview with Jillian.

To me it was really interesting to read her thoughts on how to lose weight. I was surprised at one thing she said about how long a person should be working out and how you shouldn't work out more than 8 hours a week if you have less than 50 lbs to lose. I wonder what the intensity is that she is talking about because I am currently working out more than 8 hours a week but the intensity types are diferent. I do not work out more than 8 hours at a vigorous level so for now I am going to assume that's what she is talking about. Moderate wise is walking with the family and trying to keep active just by living.

5/13/09 Yesterday

ARRRGHHH! I couldn't get into blogger last night so I typed up my entry in word and forgot to e-mail it to myself to post so the article review will be posted tonight.

I dragged myself out of bed yesterday because I was just tired I have been pushing the workouts and my body is adapting but it was slow going yesterday. I made it to work and had cheerios for breakfast, apple and string cheese (and YUCK on the string cheese I bought not buying that brand again it was like eating rubber unfortunately we have a lot of it left to go through) for snack, ham, swiss cheese, a slice of breaf, two tomatoes, and some chips for lunch. It wasn't a sandwich since it wasn't all put together but it worked. I forgot to pack my afternoon snack as I thought I had something here and didn't. Then for dinner we had chicken fried steak, mashed potatos and corn. It was yummers!

Workouts I had increased my limits the night before on steps and knew that I had to get 10K steps in. I increased my moderate workout time to 1:50 and my vigorous workout to 10 minutes. So yesterday at lunch I went for a 20 minute powerwalk and got 2900 steps in WAHOO!! I left work at 4 and went home and went out for a run since I had bombed so bad on Tuesday and I am happy to say I ran half the distance I ran Sunday through the wind and the heat. When D and Roo girl got home we ate dinner and then went for a family walk. Roo wore her bear harness and she led the way and she went for the LONG walk that we normally take. That poor little girl was HOT when we got home I felt bad that we had left her water at the house in the stroller which she had initially indicated she wanted to ride in. Then she was like HA HA jokes on you. So we walked and swore to never forget water again. Once Roo was in bed and asleep D and I did the p90x chest, shoulders, and triceps and all I can say is man do I have some work to do to get to where I can do the funky pushups. I'm getting to where I can do regular real pushups but to throw in one handed and all sorts of other different ones yeah not there yet.........

So to end the review of yesterday I had 14K steps at the end of the day, I hit my moderate and my vigorous goals. I burned 2600 calories and I was tired out and ready for sleep.......

5/12/09 All Day

Today got off to a great start. I woke up feeling energized and ready to conquer the world. I am so committed to becoming a new me that I want to face everyday with energy and excitement. It was tough though to go to work and to send Roo off to school. Ok sending Roo off to her school was the hardest thing to do today.

I won the draw and got to go upstairs to wake her up to start the day. She was already awake and ready for hugs (and a new diaper) and on the way down the stairs I got hugs and kisses which I enjoyed because the minute she saw D she was daddy’s girl. D had been downstairs fixing my sandwich and one of my snacks for the day.

While Roo got her snuggles with her daddy I went in and poured a serving of cheerios in a baggie for breakfast since breakfast seems to be best eaten at work. I am really not a morning person and getting up and eating right off the bat does not work for me LOL! So into the lunch bag it went, along with an apple and 2 string cheeses, a small roast beef sandwich w/ a serving of tortilla chips, and I forgot the afternoon snack which was supposed to be yogurt. OOPS!

I made it to work and got busy eating what I previously listed. For the afternoon snack when I headed home I stopped at sonic and got a soft serve cone because I was STARVING! My blood sugar was going down and I needed a pick me up fast.

I got home and immediately got changed and went out for a run. My run failed it was to windy and no matter which direction I was going it was in my face and I just could not get over it so it became a speed walk which was good but I was disappointed in myself. I also got a cramp in my calf which hurt but I’m over it.

As soon as I got home I put a Market Street pizza in the oven and I had 2 small slices o that for dinner and then we went out for our family walk. It was actually a really short walk because we let Roo lead the way and we played follow the leader which was a lot of fun.

We made it home at 7 just in time for biggest loser which if you know me and read this blog you know I watch. While watching I had my laptop up on my aerobic steps and I just marched in place and did kickbacks and kept myself moving. The Biggest Loser is such an inspiration to me and seeing how far everyone has come has me even more motivated to push myself. I am disappointed in myself some because I wasn’t pushing myself as far as I could earlier in the year but that’s ok now I am and I will get to goal.

My article for the day was watching Biggest Loser tonight. I will find a great one for next week!

5/12/09 Biggest Loser Finale

Tonight is the finale of the biggest loser and you better believe I am here watching and am ready to recap it all!

The first part was of course the recap of the season and who all was competing and of course it's live and you can't hear Allison Sweeney. They are going to find out who the final 3 are first.

Mike is the first one out and all I can say is WOW!! He looks AMAZING!!!!!!!! Then Ron came out and well he looks amazing too! Ron started as the sickest player and now WOW he is so healthy.

The envelope is out and we have to find out right after the commercial.......

America chose MIKE!!!!!! MIKE is in the final 3!!!!! WAY TO GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They now have two people who America is going to vote to be on the next season of biggest loser. Both are beautiful girls and they are headed to the gym to workout with Jillian and Bob so we can see what they are made of!

Estella and Jerry are the first to come out before their weigh in! Damien and Nicole come out next! OMG they are looking FABULOUS!!!!! WOW WOW WOW!!!!!! Jerry I almost do not recognize him! He is so so thin! Dr. H came out to tell us about Jerry said he had over 100 lbs of fat in his intestines and that he had all sorts of health issues and now he is down to a 38 inch waste and is soooo much healthier the diseases he was suffering from were gone and all the medicines are gone that he was on. Nicoles wedding dress is now a size 8!

Allison is now talking about the pound for pound goal that they challenged America to. Almost 3 million lbs were pledged to food banks. The challenge continues at biggestloser.com until May 31st.

5/11/09 Monday Fitness with the Family

One thing I have found is that it is so hard to get a workout in when you're trying to get it in around a little ones schedule. I love Roo's schedule but I can't get the workouts in that I want to get in if I wait for her to sleep so on the days that we are home (whether it's weekend or my two work from home days) I do a workout that she can be easily involved in and that is walking in the house.

She knows when she gets up that we are going to march march and she will get ready for it with stretching, then doing the video. Presenting it in such a way that she is excited about has really helped me out because she encourages me to get through it. Who am I kidding she's a little trainer in training she will not let me accomplish less than I am capable of because she will stare me down and tell me to March. It's really cute!

I'm excited because this is something that she loves to do, I am able to get my workout in, and I am demonstrating to her a healthy lifestyle with some easy to accomplish activity in it. Then when she tires out she either wants up in my arms to march which adds to my workout with more weight, or she will go start to play with a favored toy of the moment.

If you are looking for a way to get a workout in with a little one you might want to try something similar. I know that it won't work for everyone but it's always worth a shot.

5/11/09 All Day

I am going to start with going over the day. I woke up and was not overly amused because the cats of which we have 4 were all on top of me meowing and throwing a fit as they had been most of the night. D figured out they were out of food even though they had been given a huge tub not that long ago he fed them Saturday night they should not have been out of food yet ARRGH! Anyway I was up and tired and I stumbled to the computer to catch up on e-mail from the night and to check on work. I currently get to work from home 2 days a week which is great for me as I get a lot accomplished and Roo stays home with me so I get to watch her as she learns and explores.

Roo got up at 7:30 and it was raining so at her direction we did a march march video. That's a Leslie Sansone Walk Away the Pounds video but to her it's a march march video. I put it in the portable dvd player because I was doing the 2 mile walk and it would run into the start of Sesame Street which is a not to be missed show on Mondays and Fridays in our house. We must have the Oscar and Elmo fix. Roo and I started marching and she remembered our silly but most excellent workout from Saturday and she started marching and running and was like MAMA and pointed behind her so I went off after her and we marched, jogged, jumped for the next 30 minutes and made it through the 2 mile walk at a much higher intensity which was great for me!

It was then time to talk breakfast and we had some GORGEOUS strawberries from Market Street and an angel food cake so I cut us each a smal slice of that and loaded it up with berries and voila instant breakfast and a huge hit in my daughter's eyes. Cake for breakfast is not a normal occurrence in our house but angel food caks is soooooooooo good and really light too. It had both of us licking our plates and wanting more but a serving is a serving and I didn't want us to have to much of a good thing all at once.

Then it was time for work and time for Roo to explore. She got on her computer (vtech learning computer) and started playing something she called boop boop. It really wasn't anything at all she was watching the screen when you turn it on and was going boop but it was cute. I was buckled down into work and getting my work related goals accomplished. Snack for us today was a serving of Kettle Corn from the Taste of Addison yesterday. It was good and I am so proud that I didn't sit down and eat the entire bag.....

I blinked and it was time for lunch. I had some stuffed potato salad, 2 oz of roast beef, 1 slice of lowfat swiss, and a pickle. It was good. Roo had the same. She was then ready for her nap (I am so jealous of naps I tell ya I would love one but that's not allowed if it's not the weekend LOL) When she was asleep I put my workout steps on the table and started working while walking. I still need to figure out a way to get my monitor and keyboard at work elevated so I can do the same thing at work. It wasn't a fast pace at all but was nice and steady.

Roo woke up and we split a banana for afternoon snack. I think she ate more of it because she came and got mine little mooch. I called it a day at 4 and put in the Power 90 Fat Blast Express and Roo and I worked out to it. Ok I worked out she did silly stuff which was fun to watch. It was intense and I really felt my workout from last night in my legs. Dinner was 2 oz of ham, some challah bread, a pickle, 1 serving of chips, and some seafood salad. Calorie wise it was not a large dinner.

We all went out for our evening walk and we made it around the neighborhood. We got home and I ran to the store for milk because we were out and that's sooooooo not allowed at our house because Roo will tell you all about it. I am trying to figure out what my evening workout will be because D has so much work he has to get finished by Thursday. I'm thinking p90x upper body somehow since we did legs yesterday and they are still killing me. I had to come back and say that I did the p90x back and biceps video and I upped my weights yet again! I am so proud of what I did tonight!! WAHOOOO!!!!

Evening snack is going to be some strawberries w/ ff cool whip.

5/11/09 Re-Introduction and thoughts on where I'm headed

I honestly don't remember if I ever posted an introduction to who I am so here it goes.

On here for those who are reading me from all over the world I will go by B. I am on a weight loss journey that I feel I have been on for most of my adult life. My goal is to get to a happy and healthy status where I am able to go and do and be a role model for my daughter and to be an amazing partner to my husband. I am a wife to the most amazingly supportive man who I will be calling D on here. He is on this journey with me and maybe someday soon I can convince him to let me share his story on here because it is always an inspiration to me. I am Mommy to an amazing little girl whose nickname is Roo and has been since before she was born. I am also a work out of the home mom who faces the challenge daily of how to find a balance of family, health, and work.

I was married in July of 05 at Walt Disney World specifically Sunset Pointe for those that know the world. :) I was at my most recent lightest weight then. After the wedding I did manage to lose about 5 more pounds and got to 145 where I plateaued before the gain. Life got stressful with D having to find a new job, a new house, deaths in the family, and then of course the biggest life change finding out we were having Roo. I vowed to stay healthy through my pregnancy and in the first trimester I gained sooooooo much weight it wasn't funny. I was in the doctors office in tears with my food journal of everything I was eating and I was like LOOK it's salad, and veggies, and correct portion sizes, and and and I found out that some women just gain weight when they're pregnant no matter what. *sigh*

In July of 07 our little Roo was born and the journey to lose was on except for the fact that I was not one of the women who lost weight while breastfeeding ok I actually exclusively pumped but I held onto my weight. I knew I was a slow loser but man that was ridiculous. As soon as I finished pumping when Roo was 13 months old I was like all right here we go and the journey began in August of 08. I was focused, dedicated, and ready to see the scale move.

I was still waiting in December when I went to see the doctor because I was having serious intestinal issues. I was in massive pain, I wasn't losing weight, and something was not right. I was tested for gallbladder and thyroid and the results for both came back normal. I was happy but not because something was not right. It was at that point that I 100% focused on making our lifestyle change and sticking to it. I knew I was going to switch doctors and I wanted to be able to tell my new one everything I had tried in hopes of finding the solution. So D and I began our Body for Life eating again which is the eating plan we still follow. We also started working out at least 5 times a week instead of 3 which is what we had been doing. We also got Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred and in January we made it 25 days before I got sick. That was 25 days straight..........

I lost 6 lbs from January to late March which was great but aggravating because I was pushing myself. During this time I was also trying to find a new doctor and was reading up on all sorts of possible reasons I was having so much trouble and I found the answer. I chewed sugarless gum whenever I was bored, wanted to snack, or had just eaten so I could clean my mouth out and I am apparently allergic or have an intolerance to sorbitol or xyrithol. I stopped and went WHOA as I thought back to all the times I had been in so much pain and had trouble and compared it to when I wasn't and every single time it was because I had started chewing gum again. And the most recent time I started having trouble was when I switched brands and flavors. So you will never see me suggest that you chew sugarless gum for that quick sugary fix because I have found that's not a solution it's trouble!

So also around the time I figured out what my stomach issues were I was hearing about new workout programs that I wanted to try and new gadgets that I had to have. April started a new me plan when I got my Go Wear Fit (www.gowearfit.com) I was able to see the numbers of calories I was burning and ummm at first I was in shock. It became a challenege to meet my daily goals and it is a challenge that has really seen me through so far because in April I lost 6.8 lbs! I was also doing Power 90 and starting the p90x (www.beachbody.com) workout systems. Yes I am working through both programs although more focus is given to p90x as it challenges me more and is longer and has more variety.

So that brings me to today and the reason I am making changes to what I do. I have found so much inspiration in so many different people that I wanted to find a way to give back and try to be inspirational to those who might stumble across this blog. I have been brainstorming different directions to take because at the end of the day this is still my weight loss blog and it is my journal of where I was to where I am going but I want to fill it with more information and more ideas of what I do and hope that maybe somehow and in some way somebody else can use that as they are on their own journey whatever type of journey that might be.

My main idea is that each day I will have a different topic and each week will cycle through them.

Mondays will be working out with the family. How I get my workouts in and get time with the family. I will talk about different games and activities that we do and I will be searching for more!
Tuesdays will be finding a fitness article and reviewing it (as well as sharing the link to the source)
Wednesday will be a review of a weight loss article.
Thursdays will be finding a new workout video or exercise on the internet and trying it out and reviewing it.
Fridays will be a family recipe as in a recipe that kids can help you fix that is healthy and yummy!
Saturdays will be trying a new recipe and my review.
Sundays will be a reflection of the week and if any big news is out there or a review on a workout video, etc.....Essentially Sundays will be a grab bag LOL!

I will still have my daily journal and my personal reflections as I go through this journey because I am not at goal yet and even when I get to my goal I want to push forward and excel.

I am on this journey to get healthy and to stay healthy and I want to share how I got there with everyone.

5/11/09 New blog direction

Yesterday I recommitted myself to working out at a higher intensity level and with that I am hoping to start blogging in a more interesting way and finding articles and the such that are interesting and related to healthy living.

I will be sharing new recipes that I try (which means I need to find new recipes LOL)

So with the new look to the blog, the rededication of myself to this healthy lifestyle, and my thoughts and brainstorms I hope to make this a blog that people will look at more frequently. Although it will still be all about me HA HA!

Also if you're reading and you have a blog and I do not have it listed on my frequently read please let me know! I want more to follow!!

5/10/09 All Day

Happy Mother's Day to all the Mom's out there who are reading this. I hope that everyone had as great a day as I did!

The day got off to a lazy start Roo and D made me cinnamon toast and gave me a gorgeous necklace and told me that the day was all mine to choose what to do. I thought about it and decided that I really wanted to do the Taste of Addison and I had an absolute BLAST! Eating wise I did great but I do not know how to record it. It was definitely a free day on BFL. We had a sampler platter from Tejas de Brazil, air baked sweet potato fries from Topz, chicken kabobs from clay pit, sampler dessert platter from Melting pot, and a cupcake from celebrity cafe. All of these were of course split between 3 people with the exception of the Tejas De Brazil and I made D get his own so we both split with Roo. We walked around until we decided that we'd had enough and it was time to head home so Roo could take a nap.

While Roo slept I caught up on some of the show's I've DVR'd and I had some carrots and spinach dip for a snack.

Then I logged onto facebook and saw that someone I know had completed something that they had been training for. I am so proud of them for doing this and accomplishing this but on the other hand I am tryng to figure out why I'm excited for them. I really do not think they would not be excited for me if I accomplished a similar goal. They (and yes this is plural) have made it clear that anything that deals with endurance sports is theirs and that I am not worthy of even attempting such a thing. This goes back to when something that I never said was reported to them as being something I said and that is the time that all hell broke loose. I will swear until the day I die that I never said that but I will never be believed and it hurts more than I can say. They even talked about how stupid I was for attempting such a thing as a marathon on a discussion board that I was an active member on as well.

I don't know why I seek approval from them. I already know they don't support me at all they sent me a huge e-mail before I got married saying that I was ruining my life because D didn't go to church and that the marriage would not be supported by them etc... When I found out that I was pregnant I got a one word e-mail response and that was it. So much for how excited I was when I found out about theirs. I need to just let it go and try to ignore things that are said such as that I am not worthy of being able to run that I am never going to be worthy of any endurance sports because it is theirs or anyone else they encourage to do it (which is everyone but me) and I know I will never be one of those people and it hurts. Damn it hurts.

Anyway as I was talking to D about this I was thinking back to when was the last time I had run and realized that it had been to long and the reason I stopped was because I put the mental block back up that what they said was true that I was not ever going to be good enough to do it. So I told D I would be back later and I put on my shoes and I took off. I ran my neighborhood and I only stopped for about 30 seconds total in a 30 minute run. I DID IT!! I am over the block I am worth it and we are signing up for a 5k soon I found one that had a date that worked. I am going to do this and I am going to prove to myself that not only am I worth it I can do it. I made the neighborhood with only 30 seconds of walking. I MADE IT! I am so worth it and I am so going to do this.

And yes I am proud of the person who accomplished their goals today I can't help it but I will always wonder if they would be proud of me if the situation were reversed at such time that I do finish a race it won't be something that I really talk about because I don't want to hear the rejection. So for those who are here for my journey and who are cheering me on Thank you I can't tell you how much it means. I don't think I ever realized how much support or lack there of makes such an incredible difference.

I got home so happy and so thrilled that I had made it and it was time for dinner. I had 2 oz of buffalo chicken breast (deli meat) 1 piece of muenster cheese, a tomato, bell pepper and some stuffed potato salad from yesterday. We then went for our family walk and it was a fast one because I was still on my high for having jogged the whole thing.

Roo went down for the night and it was time for legs and back with p90x. OUCH!!! All I can say is OUCH!!!! OUCH OUCH OUCH OUCH OUCH!!!! But it was good.

GWF: It is 10:00 and I have hit all my goals.

I am 100% recommitted to p90x and will be adding in jogs 3 times a week. Since I am writing this it is being set in stone. When I go on vacation in September I will be healthy, in shape, and a smaller size.

5/9/09 All Day

We had a great Saturday! It of course started off with Little Gym. I had a banana before we went for breakfast YUM! Then at Little Gym it was all about chasing a Roo around and cheering for her as she did her own thing. It was fabulous! We ran to Market Street then to buy sandwich stuff for our Mother's Day lunch. My little bro came out and my parents came out to celebrate Mother's Day today so that I could celebrate with my little girl tomorrow. So for lunch I had a gourmet sandwich and some little samples of some salads like stuffed potato salad, and coleslaw. It was funny I made my plate look super full but it wasn't. I think in all honesty my lunch calorie wise was lighter than what I would normally do but because I did not have calorie information on a lot of the items I didn't want to blow it. Then for afternoon snack I had a very small slice of chocolate cake w/ oreo whipped cream icing. It was really good and I am happy to say that my slice was really small but I got rid of most of the cake because other people's slices were not small LOL! Dinner for me was a salad w/ lettuce, peppers, tomato, 1 slice of swiss cheese, 2 oz of ham w/ homemade ranch.

Then the insanity began. I put in my hour long WATP and everyone started doing it but somehow within the first 3 minutes we started doing our own thing and running around the house and doing tires and bear walking etc....This lasted for OVER an hour. Roo was having so much fun with the insanity and we were laughing so incredibly hard. The heart rate was way up there. In fact according to the GWF I burned 700 calories, got 10K steps, and 1 hour and 3 minutes of vigorous exercise and 20 minutes of moderate. I am trying to upload the thing right now but the battery is apparently caput and is charging at the moment. I can't wait to see the graph for this one.

We really had so much fun with this that I can't wait to do it again tomorrow but for tomorrow we might try to do it outside with all the jogging. I feel awesome right now!

There was no evening snack.

Oh and I didn't mention I hit my 2500 calorie goal at 8:20 WAHOOOOOOOOO!!

5/8/09 All Day

Today has been a day. I got up really early and took Roo out for a nice long walk before the day got started. We shared a bowl of life cereal w/ milk and giggled as the milk dribbled down Roo's chin. Then we cuddled for a little bit before it was 8:00 and time for work and Sesame Street. Roo got busy doing her thing with blocks and the occasional look up at the tv in time to scream either Ocar, Elmomo, Bid Bird, or abby dadabby, it was fun and cute to watch her. I worked and tried not to start screaming at several points. Roo would come up for hugs and I would take a minute to take a deep breath remember that I'm doing this for her and give her lots of cuddles while trying to solve problems in my head without banging said head into a brick wall which really sounded tempting at several points of the day.

Morning snack was a banana and Roo and I shared each others. Don't ask me why I didn't start it but it was fun. Lunch was a big salad which was actually leftovers from last night and was YUMMY! Roo was not amused at one point though because she wanted more broccoli and I was out. She came over and picked through my salad to see if I was kidding with her and cried when she realized I wasn't. Oy note to self buy more broccoli tomorrow although I am sure that tomorrow will be a want for something else because isn't that always the way?

Then after awhile she went up for her nap and I popped in Biggest Loser Cardio max and went through that and got a really nice workout done. I feel it right now that's for sure! Afternoon snack was angel food cake w/ strawberries and cool whip. Roo inhaled it and I had to eat quickly to be able to enjoy mine before a little helper tried to get it. Dinner was a chicken and mushroom lasagna that had a lot of spinach in it. I need to try to recreate the recipe and post it because it was really good!

We all went for a family walk tonight which was really enjoyable and I don't think I am going have an evening snack. Evening workout has been clean the house because we have company coming over for lunch tomorrow and we have quite a bit to get cleaned up.

5/6/09 All Day

Today was the day from Hell I am not going to lie it was awful in regards to stress levels.

I didn't eat breakfast or morning snack because we were on the road to take my sweet little Roo to see a doctor. The appointment was awful and we go back next year we were hoping to be released but next year will be our year for that. D, Roo and I went to the office so I could show him around and that went well. We went there after stopping by to see my parents. Lunch was a big salad from New York Subway it was just as delish as it ever was and I had a bag of salt and vinegar chips. Sometimes you just need that extra kick LOL! Afternoon snack was pretzels and smoked gouda pimento cheese. Dinner was a burger patty, broccoli, and potato salad (homemade variety) evening snack is not going to happen I'm to tired to eat.

Workouts: Family walk, chasing Roo all over the place, and then Power 90 Level 3-4 Strength. It was a great workout! I didn't want to workout today I really don't feel 100% last night was bad for sleep because of storms. It was an emotional day w/ the doctors appt and results, and did I mention I didn't sleep much last night? I was all set to just take it easy tonight but I decided I couldn't do that so we did the Power 90 as it is a shorter in length workout so it seemed manageable to me. It was really good.

Go wear fit I am not going to hit any of my goals today and I am ok with that. I'll hit the goals tomorrow and go over them!

5/5/09 All Day

Today was a good day if you consider that I made it through on about 3 hours of sleep. My hand hurt so bad last night that whenever I touched it on the bed or pillow I would jerk awake. Oy! I made it to work and stayed awake all day though which was a good thing.

Breakfast was the standby of cheerios. Snack was yogurt and freeze dried raspberries. Lunch was a roast beef wrap. Snack was an apple and yogurt. Dinner was tortellini w/ alfredo sauce that had peppers and then some avocado on top. It was good! Evening snack was 5 m&m's.

Workouts were the powerwalk at work and then the family walk. It was the rest day from p90x mainly because the hand is super tender still and although it is better it's not 100% and I didn't want to hold weights or fight through push ups. Tomorrow I am back at it though I cannot give up on myself.

Tonight's biggest loser really brought it home that I need to push myself harder and so I am going to work on ways to do that. I am going to start running again tomorrow. I saw a 5K I want to run in July so I have 2 months to get to where I can do it.

5/5/09 Biggest Loser Recap

They went home and the show starts with each of them celebrating with friends and family. They do interviews with each on what they are facing and how they are handling. They each get a box which shows them that they will be competing in their biggest challenge ever for Biggest Loser which was a full marathon.



Jillian and Bob visit their contestants and take them to the gym and talk to them about how they are doing. Helen and Tara were encouraged to have a glass of wine and relax. That sounds like a great tip!



Mike hurt his hip and he can't run the marathon but he is walking it! Talk about dedication!!



Tara was the first one to run and finish! Each contestant had apast winner who was there to run with them for awhile and to help inspire them. Helen finished the race!!!! Mike finished the race!!!!!!!! Ron persevered and he made it to mile 17 and had a bunch of past winners there to help him. He finished the race everyone Ron finished the race. I have tears pouring down my face right now it took him 13 hours and 15 minutes but RON FINISHED THE RACE!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG how moving is that? What an accomplishment Ron and everyone else you did it! OMG EACH OF YOU DID IT!!!!! They all got 10K dollar checks to give to a charity of their choice.



Everyone is now heading back to the ranch for the final weigh in. America gets to decide who the final 3 are. So of course we aren't going to find out until the final show.

Ron pleads that Mike get to be one of the final 3 and Mike said that we should vote for whoever we choose to.

5/4/09 All Day

Ok I'll start with the WI I am going with Saturday's weight since I wanted to avoid the scale this morning. Why well yeah no comment anyway moving on.

The morning started with march march march and man my little girl can be a task master! If I was not marching fast enough for her she told me to pick it up by going MARCH MARCH! LOL! It was really cute. Breakfast was life cereal. Snack was pretzels. Lunch was a chicken salad sandwich w/ carrots. Snack was 1/2 apple and 2 string cheeses (roo split the apple with me) While Roo napped I did a quick Power 90 workout and MAN it hurt but it felt great. Dinner was a chipotle bbq pork chop, baked beans, and some light (homemade) potato salad. It was good and was accompanied by a coke w/ a splash of rum.

It was that kind of day. We then went on the family walk and I was demonstrating a cute dance that Roo was doing today when she saw the trash truck and when I got to the point of raising my hands in the air to go hooray (it's cute when a little girl does it trust me) I slammed the crud out of my hand on part of the stroller. I saw the little birds people talk about circling over my head as I gasped for air and looked like a blubbering fish I am sure. I held my breath and tried not to pass out and then I started to go eep eep eep because I didn't want to start cussing in front of Roo. My hand swelled up nice and pretty like and has a gigantic bruise on it. I am in some massively serious pain at the moment but I can bend myhand so I will survive for another day.

After we got home and got Roo to bed for the night it was time for p90x and in the attempt to find a workout that might not require as much hand usage I put in the core syngerstics and OUCHERS! It was a great workout and will be better in the future when I am able to put pressure on my hand again for the push ups. Tonight was not a push up night.

So that's it for the day. I went over each of my goals (except for calorie intake and I am proud to say for the first time ever I am within 2 calories of my 1500 calorie goal. Usually I am about 100 under.

5/3/09 All Day

Today was a very busy and intense workout day. I woke up 8:30 and had a bowl of life cereal which was yummy. Then it was time to get to work and get to sweating. First we did the arms and shoulders of p90x which I have to brag I went up a lb in weights from 5 to 6! There was one exercise that I had to go down to 4's but the majority of the video was done with 6 lb weights which is a huge accomplishment for me! As soon as that video was done we had a snack of light vanilla yogurt w/ freeze dried raspberries which was DELISH! Then it was time to do Cardio x from p90x it was good but there was to much yoga in it for me. I need to get over that yoga block I have because I do enjoy it and I know it works but right now the moves are awkward for me and I need to just practice it more until I get in the groove. As soon as we finished that we put Roo in the stroller and took off on a walk/run around the neighborhood. We made it one lap before a certain little girl had reached her limit but we made it the full lap so that was awesome! We had a roast beef wrap for lunch w/ 1/2 serving of chips and 1 serving of carrots. YUM!!!

Then the afternoon was spent catching up on some work (no fun) when Roo woke up from her pretend nap we went to Babies R Us to get a baby shower gift and man that trip was sooooooo much fun from pulling over on the side of the road because a little girl had decided to wiggle her arm out of her harness to the hissy fit when she couldn't get a toy. UGH! We made it home and D made us a large salad w/ chicken, avocado, corn, black beans, lettuce, tomato, cheddar cheese, light ranch and barbecue sauce. It was REALLY good and super filling! Then we put Roo in the stroller again and took another lap around the neighborhood. We almost made it home before the protests ensued......

So that was my day in a nutshell I spent over 3 hours working out and pushing my limits in a row. It was intense but it was good. I am tired and I am sure that I am going to sleep well and that I will hit all my daily goals. I am over for moderate exercise and steps and am about 80 calories away from my calorie goal for the day so I'll get that by midnight.

Life is good at the moment really really good.

5/2/09 All Day

I have had a migraine most of the day so the workouts have been only little gym and the family walk before the skies opened up again. Tomorrow will be a 2 workout day for sure!

Eating on a Saturday is tough since I essentially get up in time to head out the door for Little Gym so breakfast and snack were skipped. Lunch was a chicken salad sandwich and a serving of carrots and half a serving of chips. Afternoon snack was pretzels. Dinner was a big mediterranean salad. Evening snack was some ice cream. Right now I am enjoying a v8 smoothie juice w/ a spash of vodka in it. It has been sooooooo long...........

5/1/09 All Day

Must.Take.Time.To.Post LOL!

Life has been good and busy the past few days which is good because it makes time pass quickly but on the other hand it's so hard to just go go go go and not have 5 minutes to sit down and take a deep breath. Anyway life has been good.

This week one thing has been on my mind and I got some great advice from some friends in regards to reaching maintenance. It hit me this week that I might actually reach my goal weight this year the way I am losing weight at the moment. Once that hit me I was like OMG if that happens that will be the first time in my adult life that I am not focusing on losing the weight. I know that I cannot ever go back to where I was and that it will always be a constant challenge but this year I might actually be able to not focus on losing and I am trying to figure out when that day happens how I adjust to maintenance. I know that this blog is my tool for logging my thoughts and my day and that won't change once I get there but wow one day this year I might actually not have to focus on losing. That is such an amazing and awesome thought! The first time in my adult life that it would be occurring. WOW! I have an initial goal in mind. I would like to see 145 which is where I was when I got married and if I can get to 145 I want to see how I feel and see if I want to go down to 135 which is my ultimate goal but I honestly do not know if that is possible. I got to 145 before and plateaued. I have new strategies now and new workouts so I do want to see if I can get lower because it is more in my healthy range 145 is the high end of healthy but I don't know we'll see. I have to get closer first!

Today was a great day it started off with march march and I have to say that all the walk away the pound videos are great wake ups for the day. And when you have a toddler who is doing them with you the cuteness just does not get any better. She knows how to march march and she will tell me if I am not doing it right LOL! Of course sometimes when she wants to be in my arms and is telling me I'm not doing the arms right yeah well that doesn't work to well. LOL!

Breakfast was life cereal w/ milk. It was good, Roo liked it especially my bowl although she had her own........Snack was a cinnamon stick Roo had two. Lunch was leftover pizza from last night. Afternoon snack was another cinnamon stick. Dinner was a pulled pork barbecue sandwich w/ cheddar cheese and freeze dried peas. It was really good. Evening snack was skipped since I am about to fall over.

Workouts: walk away the pounds 2 mile, family walk/jog, plyometrics from p90x OUCH OUCH OUCH, and 1 mile walk away the pounds because I was trying to reach my calorie goal before bed and I'm still not there yet.

Latest review on the go wear fit. I still love it and right now I am giving the information that it provides the credit on why I have lost so much weight during April. I weighed in this morning so I could have a start weight for a May weight loss challenge and an end weight for the April challenge and so far this week I have lost 1.2 lbs. That means that during April I lost 6.2 lbs and for the year I have lost 13. I am telling you the numbers keep my motivation up and really push me I love how much I am doing and how healthy I feel. The data I am seeing are really showing me where I wasn't hitting before and I am now able to push it harder and know the numbers.

P90X OUCH OUCH OUCH! It hurts but is sooooooooooooo worth it! I am already seeing physical changes in my legs and I cannot wait to see even more!

4/29/09 All Day

Breakfast was honey nut cheerios. Snack was an apple and pretzels. Lunch was a lean cuisine butternut squash meal. Snack was a dannon activia light vanilla yogurt w/ freeze dried raspberries. Dinner was 1 beef fajita and guacamole and chips. Snack was skipped because I am still feeling dinner.

Workouts was walking and p90x back and chest.

I have no time to write today but will tomorrow.

4/28/09 All Day

I feel like I am falling apart right now my head is throbbing and I have a muscle that is twitching. I think it is called exhaustion. Sleep just didn't work last night for me so I am suffering today.

It was a work day so I got up and got ready thinking that my food from last week that I didn't eat would still be in the fridge HA HA HA it wasn't. GRR but oh well I did have some snacks in my desk and I had leftovers from yesterday so life was ok. I had cheerios for breakfast, a small bag of baked cheetos for snack, rice and meatloaf from last night for lunch, a bar for snack, and avocado tacos for dinner. Those were DELICIOUS!!!!! All they are is: a tortilla we used whole grain, an avocado sliced, and then you cook onion and bell peppers fajita style and put them on add a little bit of sour cream and a little bit of cheddar cheese and voila YUM!

Workouts: walking, family walk, and strength power 90 because it was to late to do p90x and my head was killing me at the time so we did power 90 and pushed it.

4/28/09 Biggest Loser Recaps

Ok so now that we've done that let's get into it.



The show starts off with everyone being told that this is it this is everyones last week at the ranch. There was the normal OMG's and am I ready's? I want to tell each of them yup you're ready you have come this far you can go further! You have so many more tools and resources available now that yes you can succeed and come back and kick tail! Helen and Tara tried on their goal outfits and all I can say is yall were smoking hot! And Mike OMG on that jacket fitting that is FABULOUS!!!!!!!



Then they went to the health center for the check ups and the look how far you've comes. Everyone has done great! Helen you rock for taking 10 years off your biological age from before! Ron you rock for losing all that fat around your heart and kidneys etc....And to get off all the meds WOW! Talk about inspirational!! Mike you rock for losing over half of what you were when you came to camp!!! You are an inspiration!!



Now they are on their challenge where they are to carry all their weight from before up a sand hill to throw over the edge when they reach the top. Each week point they get to shed the weight they lost that week.



HAHA watching the contestants make the trainers workout was pretty funny.



The last chance workouts were intense and everyone did a great job!



Tara for winning the challenge had a choice of a lb or 10K she chose the lb and Mike as second place winner got the 10K. Pretty cool!

Ron and Mike made their own personal goal. They lost over 300 lbs combined while at camp. WAY TO GO GUYS!!!!!!

4/28/09 All Day

Did I mention I'm in the 160's LOL! I am so excited about that! And I am excited about what our goal reward is so I had better bust my bottom to get there since it's booked. We're going to Disney so I've spent tonight booking airfare LOL!

Breakfast was life cereal. Snack was carrots and some dip. Lunch was a turkey sandwich w/ low fat swiss, tomato, and 1 serving of chips. Afternoon snack was light ice cream. Dinner was meatloaf, black eyed peas, and brown rice.

Workouts: WATP this morning and a WATP during a little girl's nap and a 45 minute walk. Roo insisted on walking on her own but we went around our regular path just not up and down each street.

4/27/09 Weigh In

It's official I am in the 160's. :) I lost 2.8 last week. Did I mention that I am in the 160's? Oh and I went shopping yesterday and I had to buy a much smaller size! I am getting there!!

4/26/09 All Day

I felt better today so life was good. I took Roo to the mall and to Target for the morning and we got to spend some quality time with each other which was fun.

I didn't eat breakfast as I didn't want to worry about whether or not my stomach would do anything weird. Lunch was a sandwich from Dagwoods. Afternoon snack was some graham bunnies. Dinner was chicken sausage, spinach, and spaghetti. Evening snack was some light ice cream.

Workouts: walking and lots of it. I walked at the mall and we did our family walk.

Tomorrow I am back 100% I miss p90x.

WI tomorrow is going to be good. I am the weight I was before I got the stomach bug and I am happy with that one. :D I can't wait to share. :D :D :D
