1/31/09 All Day

Today was our free day and I really cannot get over how well behaved eating wise we were. On free day you get what you want in the quantity you want. I am really noticing that the quantity I want is much smaller let me demonstrate.

B: egg beaters w/ pepper and turkey bacon (less than 1 serving)
S: none
L: 1.25 normal slices of pizza (Roo ate .25 of a half slice of pizza I had) and a huge salad w/ vinigarette dressing (yes on the side). I left the restaurant content but not full.
S: none
D: leftovers from last night
S: 1 serving of reduced fat oreos (aka 3 oreos)

See my portion sizes are excellent! We ordered the small pizza at the restaurant SMALL not large which used to be the norm. We left with food from the small pizza. The salad was delish and I do mean delish! I want to try doing one like that at home this week.

Workouts: we walked and walked and walked today. We went around an outdoor mall and kept a great pace. Then we took a walk around the neighborhood today with Roo and played on the park equipment. How is playing exercise? It's exercise when you're lifting up Roo's so they can get back on the slide really fast because sliding is of utmost importance LOL! It wasn't that strenous it was fun. Then I am sure you are expecting me to say I did the shred but we didn't EEK WHAT you're saying, you didn't shred tonight? Nope we didn't. Instead we did level 1 of the biggest loser boot camp. I'm switching back to the shred tomorrow night. Bootcamp was good and it was an excellent workout I am sore already but it just seemed discombobulated when compared to the shred. I don't know we might do it again tomorrow and see if we can work through 30 days with it and the yoga that we're supposed to mix in.

This morning I peeked at the scale and I saw a loss. I was THRILLED and hope that it is still there on Monday because it might actually mean that I meet my January goal of losing 5 pounds. If it's not there Monday well life goes on I've still lost 4 pounds so far this month. So free day 2 is finished and again it was a success! Our next planned free day is on Valentines Day. :)

So in my rambling thoughts I am wondering how everyone else is doing in their own year? If you're reading this how's life?

1/30/09 All Day

Wow I cannot believe that today is January 30th. Where does time go? Can it slow down some, maybe just a little? Ok I know that will never happen but sometimes a girl can wish. Today got off to a sluggish start I had a rough night sleeping because I could not stop coughing and yes I took cough medicine which didn't help. Oh well beside the point. Roo woke up in the best of moods and things were great! Then D sent me an IM that sent my stress levels up. It was about job security or rather the lack there of in this economy. We knew we would know something by the end of the day but my stomach instantly went into knots. I know we would be ok for awhile if anything happened but it would be tight. So all day I kept an eye on my IM's waiting to hear what was going on. At the end of the day we are ok. So with all that I didn't eat normally. Roo also woke up from her nap late so we got a late start for a very special errand for her. She got her hair cut today!! She was sooooo good and just sat there and she sat there for an hour and a half while we waited for our turn. I wouldn't have minded the wait if I had been told at the start that's how long the wait would be so by the time she got her hair cut it was 5:45 and we were 40 minutes from the house. Hungry baby who has behaved to her limits is as we all know 40 minutes plus time to cook isn't going to work. OY!

So we went out to eat and I have to brag here, hey it's my blog I get to brag right? LOL! We went to a local Mexican restaurant and Dennis and I both made great choices. They brought out the chips and salsa and I had 3 yes 3 chips before the meal. Man were they good and after the stress of the day I wanted to house baskets full of them but nope I stayed with my 3. Roo ate quite a few but for her they were mainly vehicles to dip dip! She ate a TON of salsa (aka dip dip) the waiters were amazed at her consumption. I ordered the carne asada special (very lean pounded tender steak) and instead of rice and beans I had them sub their veggies which are carrots, squash, and zucchini which are thrown on the grill to cook and are soooo good and sooo not greasy. The meal also came with a cheese enchilada. When I got my plate I instantly portioned it out. I knew the enchilada wouldn't save well so it was split between me, D, and Roo. Then I had a small portion of the steak and a couple of the veggies and brought the rest home. It was such a treat to go out but a huge victory for me because I knew I had to eat on program tonight. Oh and at the end of the meal while we were waiting for the check I had 2 more chips. We left over half of the chips in the basket when we left in the past we would have finished our first basket and been well into another one. Today was not a free day. I did it and I feel great. I left the restaurant and was not full, and not sick. I made it home without wanting to stop fifty times on the way home. I am really conquering the habits that I had slipped into last year even when I was trying so hard to lose. I really see now where I was messing up and why things weren't working. Life is good and life is changing because this is my year.

Ok so onto the meal review. Today varied a lot from the weekly posted menu to start with because somehow we ran out of key ingredients like apples. I think a certain little girl ate a lot of those earlier in the week. LOL!

B: 2 eggos w/ peach preserves
S: banana (and let me tell you this was a fight! Roo thought she needed 2 bananas and that Mommy needed none)
L: turkey wrap sandwich w/ 1 laughing cow, spinach, and banana peppers.
S: didn't happen and was the most stressful part of the day so it's huge that I didn't just stuff everything in the house in my mouth
D: 1 small piece of steak, 1 cheese enchilada, some veggies, and 5 chips total
S: 1 8 oz glass of orange juice

Workouts: We did level 1 of the shred again. We're moving to a different level tomorrow probably level 3 as level 2 is so much plank position and Dennis is still not 100% healed.

So at the end of a long day I was successful. Things did not go as planned but I powered through it and kept the calories down. This is my year!

1/29/09 All Day

EEK! I almost forgot this because I was doing something in facebook. OOPS! It's going to be short though I'm tired.

B: chocolate oatmeal really good and really satisfying
S: open faced sandwich w/ turkey, spinach, laughing cow, and pickled banana peppers YUM!
L: black bean and turkey burrito. It was ok but to salty this time
S: cottage cheese and yogurt yes still good
D: spaghetti and meatballs YUM!
S: cappucino shake

Workouts we did level 1 of the shred again tonight. I am still fighting the coughing and level 2 requires more breathing if that makes sense.

1/28/09 All Day

Well another on program day has come and gone and mentally I feel so much better about all of this. I have been on eating program for 32 straight days. 32 days of really focusing on me and what helps make me go. I have lost weight, I have lost inches, I am in such a much better place.

B: cottage cheese and fruit parfait (it was apple and some frozen berries) it was really good and it was a HUGE breakfast I couldn't eat all of it. I tried but yeah wasn't happening.
S: turkey, swiss cheese, and wassa crackers. It was ok but I just wasn't feeling it today.
L: turkey and black bean burrito DELISH! AND we go to eat it straight from the pan thanks to the ice storm of 2009 and staying home.
S: greek pinwheels-YUM! Roo gave this her two thumbs of approval and ate an entire wrap. WOW!
D: chicken fajitas w/ sour cream, peppers, onion and of course tortillas. We each had 2 tortillas. They were really good and hit the mexican food craving but I still have a mexican food craving. For the first time in a month I am really craving sitting down at a table with chips and salsa and eating till my hearts content but that is a dream as I have now figured out that my body won't deal with that and I have to have everything in moderation. Roo ate all of hers as well (she only had 1 tortilla worth) and when we were cutting the peppers she was right beside us eating the raw peppers. I love that she will eat whatever, whenever and isn't picky about it.
S: butterscotch pudding w/ a banana. I had to add the banana in because there was a pudding making accident and way to much of it ended up in the bottom of our fridge......

Workouts: Ok are you ready for this? After way to many days off I am very proud to say that I made it through level 1 of the shred and man did it feel good to be back!! It was tough in many ways because I just wanted to cough but I pushed through all of it and I do mean all! I am BACK!

So day 32 of eating and back to day 1 of the shred

1/27/09 All Day

We had an ice day today which started the day off in an interesting way with a phone call saying that my job was closed. Ok great but man oh man I'm tired it got the adrenaline going but the adrenaline disappeared a few hours later.

B: I had a bacon and egg burrito. Little Roo ate all of her eggs and was trying to get to mine but that didn't happen.
S: roast beef rollup w/ laughing cow, roast beef, roasted peppers, tortilla YUM DELISH WOW!
L: cool taco salad-I wasn't really in a salad mood today but it was ok
S: I had hot chocolate instead of the tuna because I was flat out freezing and wanted to warm up
D: chili (it was good I could taste it)
S: banana, strawberry, oj, and yogurt protein shake YUM YUM YUM!

Workout: I put the shred in and coughed through the first 5 minutes of it and couldn't breathe. Needless to say I stopped and will try again tomorrow.

1/26/09 All Day

Today is the first day in several days that I feel human again. I did not have energy at the end of the day to work out but I survived the day and really do feel better. SCORE!

B: I was feeling off kilter this morning and somehow ended up not eating before we hit the door running to get Roo to the doctor. I still don't know how that happened and I was looking forward to the apple cinnamon oatmeal. I am going to have to put it on the menu again.
S: We were in the car which means that I had rice cakes at hand for Roo so that's what I had as well.
L: chicken cheesesteak wrap. This was delicious! Absolutely positivitely DELISH!!
S: Texas Caviar and 1 serving of chips. Funny story I was working and eating and I looked to the side and my chips were disappearing one at a time I was like ummmmm and peeked over the side of the couch and encountered the cutest giggling little girl ever. It was totally cute! At least I knew how many chips I had eaten already and how many had disappeared.
D: 4 oz of breaded flounder w/ spinach and feta brown rice. This was sooooooooooooooo good! I enjoyed every single morsel!
S: cappucino shake it was as always good but man oh man it was cold.

Workouts I didn't get one tomorrow I am doing the shred one way or another. I need to try it at least I have to get back on the wagon and I really think that tomorrow I will be able to take a deep enough breath for it.

I've already posted about my loss this week but I wanted to stop and reflect for a few minutes what it means to me. In December I went to the doctor and had tests run because I was not losing weight I was maintaining very well and I needed to lose the weight I did not want to maintain. I have at least 35 pounds I want gone, that I need gone for my health. This month I have lost 4 pounds. 4 fabulous pounds are gone and I am going to continue to work to keep them gone. Since I have changed my attitude about how this is going to come off I have really seen a huge difference. The focus and the desire is there. I am getting more healthy (yeah ok so I'm sick right now but still) I am going to reach my goal and I am going to stay there.

I posted earlier about yesterday but forgot to do today so here goes.

1/24/09 A Day Late

I am still sick and yesterday is a fog but I did my best. I slept most of the day and thanked my lucky stars that I am married to a wonderful man who takes care of his little girl and his sick wife when he himself is not feeling great. I can't even express to him how much I appreciate all he does because honestly there are no words or actions that would be able to get it across adequately.

B: chili fritata
S: crackers w/ turkey and swiss
L: meatmalls and penne pasta
S: 1/2 cup sherbert (my throat was killing and this helped it go numb of course the fever was spiking around then as well not a good time)
D: chili (Dennis swears it was good I couldn't taste it so I don't know.
S: I had a lindt truffle again trying to coat my throat if only temporarily. I couldn't taste it so it was a waste.

Workouts let's see I got up and played with Roo some and went to the bathroom that's all the energy I had. LOL!

1/23/09 All Day

I'm sick I give up I admit it I'm sick. At the minimium I have a cold, could be allergies thanks to the rapid temp changes we've been going through but I am sick. Then I was taking Roo to the doc for her well baby visit and I made it to a gas station where I got hit with a stomach bug and I mean hit hard. Not exactly the best feeling in the world. After that I felt fine, weak, tired, but I was hungry again which I haven't been all day.

I am disappointed in some ways but in others I have worked so ard the past 25 days that I have far exceeded my expectations and I have made it this far. 25 days is a good number. 1/20/09 All Day

I made it 24 days. It was tough today and I mean really tough because I did not feel 100% and neither did Dennis. Roo had a tough night last night and was up twice which didn't help anything with us. Oh well doesn't matter I made it 24 days.

Breakfast: simply strawberry oatmeal it was good this time w/ a different preserves

Snack: apple and string cheese

Lunch we switched todays with tomorrows because time was a factor. So I had a sandwich and it was good.

Snack: again a switch because of time and we had cottage cheese and yogurt again.

Dinner was sloppy joes and sweet potato parmesan fries YUM!

Snack: strawberry wafflecakes YUM!

Workout: Yeah 24 days of the shred done. I was in tears because I hurt and I didn't feel really swift but I made it through.

1/19/09 All Day

Well today was great what can I say. 23 days?? Yeah I can say it. I lost 3 pounds! I am so happy!! I got to spend the day working from home with my princess. I had such a great day!

Breakfast was FINALLY the chocolate pb oatmeal. YUM YUM YUM!!!

Snack was cottage cheese and blueberry yogurt. Funny story here Roo would get a bite and them come hand me kernels of cottage cheese after she had finished sucking the yogurt off of them the little goof.

Lunch was an oriental chicken salad which was with broccoli slaw, chow mein noodles, and chicken. YUM! I got really full off of this and next time I think I would eat less of it but I made it through.

Snack was black bean dip and 1 serving of baked tostitos. It was good but a tad bit too much fiber for the day. I am going to feel it tomorrow I think.

Dinner was 2 stuffed shells and a piece of garlic bread. It was really really really good!

Snack was the cappucino shake again. It was so good especially after the shred.

Workouts I got the shred in LOL! 23 days!!! We repeated level 1 again because Dennis wasn't feeling 100% and level 1 is easier at this point. I used 8 lb weights for two of the exercises. SCORE SCORE SCORE!!!

I really feel good about what I am doing right now. REALLY GOOD!

Weigh in day

3 pounds gone! SCORE!! Adios 180's don't come back to visit EVER again!

1/18/09 All Day

22 days I am beyond thrilled. I have been thinking all day about how different life has been these past 22 days and so much jumps out at me. Tonight is the big one. We took Roo out to the front yard to run around and I didn't get out of breath chasing her. I was able to chase her all over and didn't fall over. I am doing this to be an example to her and by having energy I am going to be the example of showing her how exercise is a good thing. I don't know I am just in constant amazement when I look at her and knowing that the choices I have made for the past 22 days are going to have a positive effect on her.

I realized today that most likely I am not going to reach my lofty workout goals but ya know what I am ok with that. Why am I ok with it? Well because although I don't see getting the 1500 minutes (a lot thanks to work) I have worked out everyday this month and that is huge! Jillian's shred is not a whoop dee doo workout it totally kicks your ass and pushes you harder than I have been pushed before in that short amount of time. I am getting my waist back. My arms are toning up. My legs are really getting toned and I am starting to see muscle appearing in my legs. I love it! I'm not giving up on my goal yet I mean the end of the month is not here yet but I know that it will be almost impossible to get there but I am still going to try.

So let's think back on eating.

Breakfast was some scrambled eggs and 1/2 of an english muffin w/ cheese. It was delish

Snack was 1 serving of rice cakes so not that much but we were in the car on the way to Sam's to get groceries for the menu. Their fresh produce is sooooo good. Their tomatos are my favorite (except for home grown of course)

Lunch for me was an open faced sandwich w/ roast beef, spinach, laughing cow, feta, and 1 slice of bread. It was really good. We got a great roast beef at Sam's and will be enjoyed this week.

Snack was one of those small bags of popcorn and I had the lime flavor. YUM!

Dinner was an oven baked steak to mimic a fried steak but without being fried. It was served w/ mashed potatos some gravy, and sugar snap peas.

Snack was 2 chocolate graham crackers, 1 tbs of pb on them, and ff cool whip. They were frozen for two hours which made it like an ice cream sandwich. It was DELISH!!!!

Workouts we did the shred. I increased my weight limits on several of the exercises. There are still some that I have to use 2 pounds for but for others I am up to 5. I also made it to through the jump ropes. Those usually kill me and I do mean kill me but today it was survivable. SCORE!

I am getting there and I love myself for it!

1/17/09 All Day

21 days on program and 21 days of the shred. 21 days that is three weeks. 21 full days, 21 entire days. I cannot believe I have been this focused. I am so excited and I am so proud of myself right now. 21 days of pure focus.

Today was our free day Dennis and I went out on a date and OMG we needed it. I have stayed away from work today and I needed the break so that was so nice and so relaxing. Ok back to the day LOL!

We did not have any real food plans for today because it's a free day that means no set menu with body for life we get one a week to go out and eat as we want, as we've been craving, whatever. It's the one splurge day of the week, the day that is supposed to keep you focused the rest of the week. BUT today was different and I'll get to that later.

Breakfast: piece of whole wheat toast w/ 1/2 tbs of peach jam.

Snack: 7 caramel corn rice cakes (the little ones)

Lunch: Ok here was our splurge we went to a brazilian steakhouse. It was the brazilian steak house we were going to go to for New Years Eve but that we didn't for financial reasons. Different location but same restaurant. Anyway we chose the plan where they bring the meat by and you get what you want and all you want and then of course there is the salad bar. This place seriously has the best salad bar I have ever been too. The veggies are so fresh and so good. They have a great selection of light dressings and vinigarettes. We each got a big plate and headed to the salad bar and we filled our plates with fresh greens, veggies, black beans, a little bit of cheese on top of the salad and some sunflower seeds. They brought cheese bread to the table that are about the size of a sanddollar and I took 1 bite and that was enough. I ate my salad but actually couldn't finish it. I had the dressing on the side so I didn't use as much. The meat guys started coming around and I got a little piece of bacon wrapped chicken, a little piece of roasted chicken, a small piece of garlic beef, and two slivers (that's the only way I can explain it) of two types of sirloin. I ate both of the small chicken pieces fully and I had a small bite of each of the beefs. I also had 1/4 of a cinnamon sugar banana and 1 sliver of grilled pineapple. It wasn't much food at all. It was about if not a little less than one of our normal BFL lunches. I really listened to my bodies cues and I stopped way before I overate. I rocked this 100% I feel so good about myself! In the past the meat guys would have made multiple stops and I would have eaten all of it instead of just taking a bite and saying that was good and being done.

We then went to the movies and got a large diet coke and no popcorn! It was strange because I always get popcorn at the movies but I was like we don't need this and that was an excellent feeling!

We went and picked Roo up from the grandparents and we took her to the local ice cream shop. I got a junior size scoop (as in the size of a golf ball) on a waffle cone. Roo ate quite a bit of my waffle cone until we went and bought her her own cone she already had ice cream. The amount was not much and not even close to what a normal serving of ice cream is but it hit the craving and that's all I needed.

Dinner was the BFL of chicken nachos (again it was a craving but it was fixed the healthy way and way low on what points would have been).

Then evening snack was the rest of the pudding that we made last night.

We did day 21 of the shred. 21 days of the shred are done! 9 days left. A week and two days that is so doable! We can do it!

I really can't explain how good I feel about myself right now. I stayed way within limits and if I were still on WW I would have been under points with what got eaten today. I am soooo proud of myself. Today was a challenge for me because I didn't want to over do or break back to my old habits and I didn't. I kept my knowledge of healthy eating habits and rocked it!

1/14/09 All day

Ok seriously can this week be over and done with? Please?

We completed Day 18 and working out tonight was the last thing in the world I wanted to do but I powered through it and made it to 18 days of the shred. YAY! No weights or additional cardio because I am still working. Yes it is 9:00 at night but the workday is not over quite yet.

Breakfast ended up being scrambled egg beaters and bacon. We did not have enough english muffins and one of them needed to be a snack.

Snack: cottage cheese and cherry yogurt YUM!

Lunch: big turkey sandwich YUM

Snack: tuna mixed w/ hummus served on an english muffin Eh wasn't my favorite

Dinner: Taco pasta salad. It was good but we somehow ran out of salsa. That is unheard of in our house EEK!

Snack: butterscotch bliss w/ coolwhip. It was good

Workouts I got the shred in Dennis really pushed me through this one because I honestly wanted to focus on what I still have to do workwise but I got through it and am proud of myself.

Day 18 a success!

1/13/09 All Day

Oh wow today is already over. You know what that means? We've completed 17 days of being totally on program and totally working the program. The doctor's office called and told me they want me to come back in 6 months for a follow up check. My goal is to be 15 lbs lighter when I go in. I think I can do that if I really push it and ya know what I am going to push it. I am not going to give up on this at all. This is for my health and I have the strength to do it.

Breakfast was cream wheat with bananas and it was really good. It was also extremely filling and lasted me well into the morning.

Snack was some turkey, cheese, and high fiber crackers. It was really good. We got a cajun flavored turkey this week and it very honestly is DELISH!! It has some spice to it which gets you when you don't expect it.

Lunch was an old favorite of a turkey and black bean burrito on a low carb tortilla w/ a touch of cheddar cheese. This is really one of our favorites.

Afternoon snack was cottage cheese and pears. It was good but it was just cottage cheese and pears LOL!

Dinner was vegetable ravioli w/ a touch of pepper and alfredo sauce. We put maybe 2 tbs on our serving of ravioli and were happy with that. In the past our pasta would have been drowned. We also had a salad w/ light dressings. Very good meal.

Evening snack was a banana w/ caramel sauce and a tbs of cool whip. Still out of this world good. I love the caramel flavor.

The workout was the shred. I need to do weights tomorrow but I have been giving my knees some time to heal as they have been very tender and I know weights only aggravate it.

It has been 17 days now and I am so happy with how far I have come. My back looks different now and I love how much better it is looking. I feel so much stronger and so much more confident. We marked on the calendar that January 27 would be our day off from workouts. I doubt we will take that day off but if we do it will be a celebration of making it through 30 days of the shred.

11/12/09 All day

Man today is finally over and I am so glad. It has been a long hard day and I have been tempted so many times and wanted to give up so many times but I did power through it in the end and that's what matters.

Breakfast was a quick one w/ two eggos and a tbs of peanut butter YUM!

Morning snack was a greek pinwheel and it was delish this time! We made it on a carb control tortilla and it wasn't mushy like it was last week.

Lunch was a blt wrap with a serving of carrots. If I had not had the carrots I would have died. The wrap just was not overly filling. The flavor was great but it just wasn't filling.

Afternoon snack was tuna w/ frank's buffalo sauce. We discovered this morning that our celery had not made it another week so we had to make do with forks. LOL! I also had to just cram mine down because of some work stuff that was going on and so I couldn't really enjoy the flavor. Oh well there's next time.

Dinner was some chicken in a vinigarette and veggies. It was really good and something we would repeat again.

Evening snack was out of this world good. It was a cinnamon eggo toasted, strawberries, some coolwhip and just a dash of caramel syrup. MMMMMMMMMMM! It was like eating a strawberry ice cream cone. I don't know it was just delish and will be on the rotation in the future.

Workouts I got the shred in. Today is day 16 and I finished it. Dennis and I were able to talk through the video this time as we were ramping up what we had been doing. I was not doing the basic moves and was thrilled to see that I could carry on a conversation. I am getting better.

So the next two weeks are going to be extremely stressful and a real test to my resolve. I can do this and I will remain focused.

Oh yeah I got home from work and had to visit the scale just to see and the number was much lower than it was this morning with clothes on. I can't wait to see what it looks like tomorrow morning as I know this mornings was a fluke.

Weight in Week 2

This is my promise to myself. I will not be upset because of this weeks weigh in. I will focus on the good part that I am now down a full percentage on my BMI on our scale. That's huge! I will ignore tha fact that because it's that time of the month that I gained the .4 I lost back and will weigh in again on Thursday to prove to myself it's gone because I know it will be. I will not give up. This is day 16 of our healthy lifestyle and I will not give up.

1/11/09 All Day

I woke up this morning to the cutest sound on the monitor. It was that of a little girl going Hi dada hi. Dada went up to get said little girl and when they came down we snuggled for a little bit in bed watching some dvr'd tigger and pooh. Loved it!

Breakfast was the wild west fritata and it was really good. I wouldn't make any changes for next time. Roo did not really care for it because her first bite was warm in her mouth and that ruined it all.

Snack was a strawberry shake and 60 calories worth of rice cakes. We were out shopping and got the rice cakes for later in the week but since we couldn't make the shake at that point we had 1 serving of those to offset the need for food. Then when we got home we had a half serving of the shake which was delish!

We switched lunch and dinner since we had been out shopping and the ziti was ready whereas the pizza had to be made. Roo was hungry we went with simple. We did actually have the shake with our lunch but it was soooooooooooo good.

The afternoon snack of the hula pizza was good. However next time we will do things differently. The tortilla which was the crust was still to soft for my liking with a pizza so I need to cook the tortilla next time before we dress it.

The bbq chicken pizza was delish! We had it with some broccoli slaw. I seriously watched a little girl inhale the broccoli it was hilarious. She loved the zuchinni on the pizza as well. This pizza was done on a wrap and we did cook it before we dressed it and it really worked out well.

Evening snack was the cappucino shake. Yes it is a favorite.

Workouts rocked today! It was beautiful outside and so we took a 2 mile walk. Ohhhhh it felt good. Dennis and I split the time carrying a little Roo when she did not want to walk herself but we really booked it. It was awesome! Then we had time to play on the playground for a bit and that was so much fun.

Then of course there was the shred. Today was day 15 we have been through the entire video 5 times. We rock!

1/10/09 All Day

I love Saturdays I mean I totally love them. I am super lucky with Dennis in that he gets up at the same time everyday it doesn't matter what day it is he doesn't like to sleep late. I do like to sleep late in fact I love sleeping late so he gets up and takes care of Roo who also does not believe in sleeping late.

So I slept late which throws the food schedule off some but not that bad.

For breakfast we had fortified french toast which was actually really good. I would choose a different kind of bread next time but it was still good.

Snack was an open roast beef sandwich. Oh yeah we got our food scale today and I pulled out what I had been giving us and weighed it thinking that oh man it's going to show me how much extra I've been giving us. HA HA I've been shortchanging us by an ounce. So this time we got it right. It was to much for me though so I think I am going to go back to what I had been doing we'll see.

Lunch was a chicken quesadilla and it was DELISH! Roo gave it two thumbs up and lots of head nods.

Snack was a cup of popcorn from a Christmas gift. It was good. Buffalo flavored popcorn is my favorite and I need more LOL!

Dinner was tempura chicken, oriental rice, and some broccoli. It was delicious!

Evening snack was a cappucino shake (can you tell it's a favorite? LOL)

Workouts let's see last night I said I was going to skip the shred today that did not happen. We did day 14 and I rocked it! Once again I am getting past some of the basic moves and movng towards advanced. I am THRILLED!! My knees felt a lot better today which really helps. I also did 20 minutes of upper body weigts. OUCH my arms are burning right now.

So that ends day 14. Yes day 14 we have been doing this for two FULL weeks! I feel so confident and so happy with myself. We set our menu for next week and have our shopping list ready for tomorrow. Next Saturday we are having a free day which we are allowed to have each week but we really wanted to make sure we were focused and really back on board before we had a free day. Our day is fully planned though and I am not worried about the choices we will be making.

1/9/09 All Day

Did yall give up on me posting? I hope not but today has been CRAZY! Work was intense and I just didn't have a minute to stop and reflect.

Breakfast was a cappucino shake it was delish!

I missed my morning snack because I had to go to a meeting that was not in my office area as in it was in a different city and I didn't grab it on the way out because I was driving. I can eat when I'm by myself but not when I have passengers in the car. I am sure they appreciate.

So when the meeting was done it was past time for lunch as well. I got back to the office and had a roast beef sandwich (we subbed that for the salad because I was anticipating the meeting) and a serving of pretzels with the cottage cheese and mandarin oranges from the morning snack. I'll deem that a success.

Afternoon snack was the Texas caviar and as always it is a YUM YUM YUM!

Dinner was ziti we did not eat a full serving because the full serving was huge and there was just no way I could manage. We did have a petit four to get some extra calories to make up for what we didn't eat in ziti.

The evening snack was a little less than a cup of sherbet. It was a yummy treat.

Workouts I managed to survive the shred. We have made it 13 days and I am thrilled. Today my knees hurt and it was just so hard to get through it so I made more modifications than I like to. I had gotten to almost no modifications as in following the high leader but tonight I had to follow the basic leader and modify some of that. Jumping jacks and jumpropes were not possible and some of the lunges were also almost impossible. I think we are going to take a break from the shred tomorrow and do yoga or something else to see if I can give my knees a break for a day. Please note that does not say I am giving up exercise tomorrow I am just taking a one day break from shred. Of course if I feel better I will shred we'll see what tomorrow holds. Tomorrow does hold upper body weights for sure!

1/8/09 All day

This morning was tough I really did not want breakfast and my stomach felt blech from the time I woke up. I decided to make a blueberry blend and take it with me to eat once I got to work. After a brief stopover at the car dealership for my free oil change I did eat it at the office.

At the morning snack I was still not hungry but I know that I have to stay on program and if I don't it's not good with hunger levels later. I did switch the morning and afternoon snacks because the afternoon snack looked smaller LOL! It was eh and had several things against it that will not be repeated in the future because this is one of my favorite types of snacks but todays was just not good. We used the wrong kind of bread and the turkey flavor was not one I really liked. Dennis said it was to sweet and that might have been it. I am not sure but we will have the snack again just with a tortilla and different meat types.

Lunch was actually a fajita salad because the cucumbers we got went bad and were not edible so we switched last night. It was really good although once again I didn't want to eat I made it through half.

The open faced roast beef sandwich was delicious and I actually ate the whole thing and felt a little better.

Dinner was sweet and sour chicken and was really good this one will be repeated in the future. We did add two tiny egg rolls that were about 100 calories so not that much added on we held back a little on the rice that it called for to compensate. It really satisfied a craving for chinese and we will have this one again.

Our evening snack was grapes and some cheese. YUM! It was nice and cool after a hard workout.

Ok workouts we made it through day 12 of the shred which means level 3 again. ER is about to come on which means I head to the bedroom to do leg weights as I watch. I need to do at least one set. I'll report back tomorrow about whether or not I did or not LOL!

So that was day 12 I survived and hope that I sleep hard tonight.

Ok so I am reporting back now. I did 15 minutes of leg weights.

1/7/09 Part 2

Snack was Texas Caviar and it was delish as always. It was served with a serving of baked tostitos.

Dinner was a steak and loaded mashed potatoes. They were really good but I felt eh afterwards. I stayed within my serving size but it was still rich and not something I will be craving anytime soon or else I need to find another way to do them. We were to get one potato each and I cooked small ones but maybe next time I will cook a medium and then split with Dennis as he was really full with this as well.

Snack was supposed to be chocolate pudding but someone forgot to buy pudding at the store so we had a cappucino shake. It was great because it was after our shred workout and we were hot.

Workouts I didn't do everything I wanted to do but I did 20 minutes of shred and I did 20 minutes of the elliptical. I was exhausted by the time I hit the elliptical and I could barely move but I didn't want to have to type here that I failed the workouts again so I did 40 minutes of cardio which is decent but not where I wanted to be.

So good night everyone I'm about to fall over. Zzzzzzzzzzz

1/7/09 Part 1

The morning got off to a great start.

We had the apple turnover sundae again and it was yummy. I added to much cinnamon to mine but that was a total accident since I was half asleep.

Morning snack was tuna and celery sticks which is always good.

Lunch was a salad with chicken, lettuce, grapes, pecans, mayonnaise, and it was supposed to have an apple as well but my apple apparently rolled out of the bag and is hopefully at home. I need to check the car for it as well.

I have had some temptations today but I have not given in. Homemade banana bread is a weakness but I avoided it! YAY!

The year of saving and purging continues. I am ready for trash day tomorrow to get rid of a lot of trash so that we can refill the bin again. Saving wise we are doing good so far. We got hit with an unexpected hospital bill today thanks to the tests I had last month but other than irking me we're fine. I just hate paying for what I don't expect and with the amount it was it makes me never want to go back to the doctor again. I know that's not reasonable and not something I would ever do but good gravy it's expensive especially when you don't come out with any answers as to why you don't feel right. Oh well the diet and the workouts really do have me feeling better than I have in a LONG time so we're going to continue this and I will reevaluate if I want more tests done later.

1/6/09 Part 2

Well in some ways today did not go as planned with workouts. We got the shred in but because a certain little Roo refused to go to bed by the time we finished shred it was to late for me to get an additional 30 minutes in if I want to sleep tonight which I do because I'm tired! So tomorrow I need to really kick it up and I'm not quite sure how I will do it but I will!

The afternoon snack was a blueberry blend. It was cottage cheese, and blueberry yogurt. It is sweet and cool and delicious!

Dinner did not go according to plan because I was in to much of a hurry this morning and did not pay attention to what setting I turned the crock pot to. I turned it to stay warm instead of low. Needless to say we weren't sure if it was still ok to eat so it went bye bye and I was scrambling for a replacement dinner that would fit within the plan. I thought of one quickly LOL! We had 2 soft turkey tacos with lots of tomatos and lettuce. We did have a dab of sour cream on them as we would have put on the chili. The tortillas were the ulta high fiber, low carb type. They were really good and hit the spot where I have been craving mexican food.

Like I said earlier I got the shred done tonight and that's it. *sigh* but I did get the shred done and that is my 10th time. I am totally noticing a difference with it. I was able to wear jeans today that did not fit a few weeks ago.

Our evening snack was super simple and was a banana with caramel sauce. I am excited because we finished our bananas and none of them went bad WAHOOOOOOOOOO!!

So that was my day in a nutshell. Today I reached double digits with this lifestyle change. 10 days 10 awesome rocking totally focused on program and workout days. Only the rest of my life to go LOL!

1/6/09 Part 1

ZZZZzzzzz right now that's the story of the day. I am reading and sitting and wanting sleep.

Breakfast was two special k eggos w/ 1 tbs of peanut butter. I should have eaten it as soon as it was ready but I didn't feel like breakfast right then so I waited till work and it was not as good as I know it is. This is one of my favorite fast breakfasts though.

Snack was an apple and 2 pieces of streng cheese

Lunch was a meditteranean sandwich. It had hummus, onion, tomato, cucumber and I had mine with roast beef. It was really good.

Workout wise I can't do anything since I'm at the office but my step count is much higher than it has been recently.

Monday, January 5, 2009

1/5/09 Part 2

Whooo I made it through the day without the chocolate. I did smell it I did touch it but I gave it to my daughter LOL! She ate some and the rest went down the garbage disposal.

For my afternoon snack it was creamy salsa dip which was a mix of salsa, cottage cheese, and plain yogurt. It was served with a serving of carrots and baked tostitos. YUM!

Our evening meal was salmon and a sweet potato with a touch of butter and some fresh honey. YUM YUM YUM YUM! Dennis seasoned the salmon with balsamic vinegar, greek vinigarette, salt, and a touch of something else that I don't remember. It was delish! It has been way to long since I have had salmon I didn't realize it was missed as much as it was with that first bite.

Then it was time for the shred. I want to take a few minutes to reflect on the Jillian Michael's 30 day shred. It was a highly recommended workout video and I got it although I was skeptical. I trusted the recommendations and I am so glad that I did. It is seriously a workout. Yes it's only 20 minutes but holy cow it's 20 minutes of high intensity. Dennis and I are doing this together for 30 days straight. That is our goal and we are on day 9 so we are almost a third of the way done. My strength is really growing with this, I am able to do so much more of the video than I was the first day. Today was our third cycle through the entire dvd and I am in such a much better place than I was 9 days ago. I feel invincible! Since on BFL today would have been a rest day for me workout wise all I did was the shred.

Tomorrow will be an intense cardio day and I am already mapping out in my head what I am going to do since I will be in the office. And yikes at being in the office again it has been almost three weeks since I have really been there. I will really miss my baby girl but I know she is ready to see and play with her friends and tell them all about her Christmas. I can't wait to see how tired she is when she comes home. I am going to miss sharing all the snacks with her and all the playtime we have had with each other. These past weeks have shown me that I am glad that I am changing my focus and really focusing on the family this year. Roo is such a sweetheart and I want to be there for her and to help watch her grow and learn. I love that little girl can you tell? Tomorrow is going to be a super long day already I can tell. LOL!

Our evening snack was banana, cottage cheese, with some maple syrup. It was just as delicious as I remembered from the last time we did BFL.

So reflecting back on 9 days I am in such a better mood, more energy, and excited place than I was before. I can't wait to reflect back when I am at 18 days!

1/5/09 Part 1

Today has overall started off great. I had a loss on the scale this morning that in some ways I was not expecting but in others was hoping it would be greated.

I am all day everyday focused at the moment as well. I am not going to give in and I am going ot maintain my accountability.

I am back at work today. Of course it's Monday which means working at home but it's still work and work focused and it's tough after about 3 weeks off. Roo had pneumonia which was a week out of work, then 2 weeks for the Christmas break. I loved my time with Roo and getting to just be a Mom. It really brought my priorities back in focus and I am going to keep them there. I know I will have tough work days when I might want to work late at night but nope not going to happen. I need to make sure work stays in work hours.

Eating wise today let's see.

Breakfast was a strawberry banana split out of this world good! It was vanilla yogurt, frozen strawberries, 1 small banana, 1 tbs of sugar free hot fudge (who can go wrong with hot fudge seriously) and grape nuts sprinkled on top. It was seriously like eating dessert for breakfast. YUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM! And it was totally filling.

Snack was meatballs on a stick. It was 8 meatballs total although I only ate 6. I had a little helper who helped herself to two of mine. And they were dipped in marinara sauce. Really really good.

Lunch was a spicy buffalo chicken salad. Spinach, tomato, feta, mandarin oranges 1/4 can, and 3/4 of a spicy chicken breast, w/ a buffalo dressing out of franks, light sour cream, and ff milk. Super filling and super delish! Roo ate the rest of the can of oranges, and some of her tomato, and the 1/4 of chicken breast I had cut for her. Her overall opinion was MMMMMMMM! followed closely by MORE MORE MORE because she wanted more oranges but they were all gone. That was disappointing for her.

I want a lindt truffle right now but I am not going to do that because it is not on the plan for today. I guess I need to find some tea to drink w/ sweet n low to get the sweet craving under control.

Focus is the name of my game right now.

Weigh in day

I weighed in this morning and it was 180.2 and 41.9% body fat.

Last week I was at 180.6 and 42.3 so I lost some and I am happy or am trying to be. I didn't expect to lose this first week so .4 is a loss but it's still tough. I refuse to give up and hope to see a better number next week.

What sucks is that I peeked yesterday and had lost quite a bit more so my muscles could really be holding onto water after last night's workout which would make sense.

.4 is .4 though so here's to another week and a better loss. Next week I will be out of the 180's if I lose .4 YAY!

Sunday, January 4, 2009

1/4/09 Part 2

Well the day is done and I am cooling down.

Dinner tonight was 8 meatballs and smart taste pasta spirals. The meatballs were made from lean turkey, oats, and italian seasonings. Dennis did a great job with them! We also had a cooked cabbage. You core the cabbage add in 1/2 stick of butter to the middle as well as seasonings. We put in garlic salt, roasted garlic, and some black pepper. Wrap it in foil and stick it out on the grill for an hour until it is soft. Or you can do it in the oven. We like the smoke flavor so ours was done on the grill and then brought to the oven to finish cooking. It was all delish!

Our evening snack was a serving of grapes. We got them at Sam's today and YUM! They are some of the best grapes I have had in a LONG LONG time.

Workouts well in my earlier post I said that I didn't want to work out but I forced myself to. Sitting on my tail is not going to get the weight off or the inches off. I want this loss and I want this healthy body. I do not want to go back to the doctor for additional tests because after this week I really feel that my half assing the diet and workouts was my problem and I want to prove to myself that I can do this for me.

Ok back to workouts. I did 30 minutes upper body weights. You name the muscle groups they were hit. So much so that my arms felt numb for a little bit. I am KICKING this. Then Dennis and I did level 2 of the shred. Day 8 and we are still standing! After that I went upstairs to do 35 minutes on the elliptical. My resistance level was higher tonight than it was the other night and it felt great. I love love love this! I am really doing so much better. With the shred tonight I was able to do more jumping than I was even yesterday. My high knees were higher and my jump ropes were actually jump ropes and not running in place. The mashed potato move I did the entire thing without keeling over.

Now I want to go curl up in bed for a month LOL! Until tomorrow.........

1/4/09 Part 1

Today has been a good day. I got to sleep late SCORE! Of course I didn't get all the sleep I needed last night even with the extra hour because someone decided that 12:00 was a great time to wake up and stay up for a half hour. I took her knowing that Dennis would let me sleep in this morning and so I let him get his rest then.

Breakfast was scrambled egg whites w/ bacon and Dennis couldn't find the english muffins so we had a piece of toast. It was excellent. I love his mom's peach preserves. YUM!

Snack was 3 town house topper crackers and 2 pieces of string cheese. We were on the road out exploring and needed something that would go with us. Why were we exploring? Well because we were trying to figure out if a local community supported agriculture place was an ok distance for us to pick up from every week. The answer is yes it is so our name is on the waiting list. I hope hope hope we get in this year. Our last two years with a different csa had been ok but they are no longer in business apparently and I want fresh veggies. We even told them that we would help out on the farm for a few hours during the summer. We really want Roo to learn all about how things grow and get to our table.

Lunch was a buffalo chicken sandwich. We used the precooked patties from Schwans which reminds me I need to order more. And then mixed some light sour cream with guess what oh yeah Frank's buffalo sauce. I am seriously addicted to that stuff. We put it on a gluten free bun, with tomato, and spinach, and a touch of cheddar cheese. It was served with carrots and some extra buffalo dip. It was DELISH! Roo definitely loves spicy food as she was really into dipping everything in her dip sauce.

Our afternoon snack was chocolate pudding and a graham cracker. Always a treat there.

Workout wise I haven't done anything yet today I really haven't felt good and my head has a slight ache to it at the moment. We have to do shred tonight and I really want to get 30 minutes in on the elliptical as well as upper body weights but we'll see what really happens.

Saturday, January 3, 2009

1/3/09 Part 2

Weights 30 minutes lower body ACCOMPLISHED! SCORE! I did two full sets of multiple exercises. I started low, added 10 did 10, added 10 more dropped 10, did 10 more, dropped to first level. I did that for each of them. Then on the calf presses I went backwards through the entire program. I felt great at the end. My legs were sore they were rocked to their core but they accomplished it.

Snack was a pinwheel w/ a high carb tortilla, cream cheese, chives, and we used a slice of pepperoni, and a slice of salami with some lettuce. It was good but I would prefer to use ham or turkey in the future or the greek pinwheels we have which are on the menu for this week YUM!

Dinner was leftover meatloaf and some fire roasted vegetables from Schwans. It was still good but again we would add some more seasonings next time.

We did the shred level 1. So we are at 7 days straight of the shred. It is rocking hard but I am seeing a difference. I can jump for longer, and I can do the butt kicks. My knees are hurting though but not the same type of hurt that I have had in the past. They are working themselves out and I hope to see the soreness gone next week.

Evening snack was a cappucino shake. It's lowfat milk, 2 tbs of cappucino, ice, cinnamon, and protein powder. This has always been a body for life favorite and one that I am glad to see back in the rotation.

We are forgoing our free day this week to make sure we are fully back on program but I think next weekend we will have a free day although we'll see what happens then. We have our menu set for next week and I can't wait. There are so many good sounding things listed and a bunch of new things to try that I hope work out. We'll see if they're not we'll know. We are going to do our grocery shopping tomorrow at Sam's and of course our local grocery store. We're also going to go for a drive to see how long it takes to a local farm that has a community supported agriculture program. The one we have used for the past two years is gone and we need a new one because I LOVE fresh local veggies in the summer.

1/3/09 Part 1

First Happy Birthday Little Bro! We hope you have a great one.

It's midday and we are relaxing. I am about to go in and do two rounds of lower body weights though.

First the year of purging. I sold a wedding dress this morning that had been sitting in my closet for 3 years. I thought it was "the" dress after Dennis proposed but 6 weeks before the wedding I knew it wasn't "the" dress so I bought another one. I hope the person who bought it has as much joy in their lives as I have now. I've also listed my Ikea Poang chairs. I love them but they are not used and because of that they are not needed. I want a new living room set and some slimmer chairs in the future. They served their purpose but it's time to let go.

Letting go is sometimes hard to do. I can't believe how I feel about it right now actually. I've always been one who would hoard and pack stuff away but I want my closet space back and I want to feel like I own my house and that it does not own me. I have gotten a lot better in the past 3 years of letting things go but I am thrilled to see that it is getting easier. Next on the list to sell is the living room furniture. I really want a sectional in this room that has some recliner options and it's time for the console tv to be replaced with a lcd tv but before that can happen some stuff has to go.

In some ways I was blessed right as Dennis and I bought our house that we received a lot of furniture from my grandparents estate. The reason I didn't feel blessed is because I would much rather have had my grandparents alive and happy but that was not to be. The living room furniture we received has been great but the lazy boys take up soooooooooooo much space in the living room that it's hard to find a place where they really "fit". There are pieces of furniture from my grandparents that I will never get rid of such as my dining room set, and one of our bedroom sets but those are very different to me than two chairs that have been well used.

Ok enough about memories and onto the present.

Today we had a mini tex fritata for breakfast. It was egg whites, chili's, cheese that were baked for about 20 minutes in a muffin tin and 2 were a serving. YUM YUM YUM! Roo ate an entire one! She gave it a lot of head nods. We will definitely have this again in the future.

Snack was simple an apple and 2 string cheeses.

Lunch was grilled chicken nachos. That really hit the spot as I've been craving mexican. The ingredients were baked tostitos (1 serving) 2 chicken tenders grilled w/ mexican seasonins, black beans, cheese (I don't remember the oz's we were allowed) salsa, 1 tbs of ff sour cream, and 4 olives. It was very filling and had a great flavor.

Well that's where I am at right now so I better get up and go do my lower body weights so I can report back on that tonight. LOL!

1/2/09 Part 2

So this day was spent cleaning with multiple trips up and down the stairs. I didn't make the lower body weights but I will hit that tomorrow. I did do 20 minutes of the shred and I made it through 20 minutes of yoga so that's 40 minutes of cardio videos for the day and since I cleaned the house for 6 hours I am counting 60 minutes for cardio as I was sweating and really working. Did you know you can do a ton of squats and lunges while cleaning and when you're scrubbing the floor you can do mountain climbers as you scrub? If you have never done that it is something to try and it HURTS! LOL. There was weight lifting going on with litter boxes, and moving items, and cleaning closets out. I am amazed at how much I want to purge right now. I am so excited that Dennis is fully on board with this plan as well.

Dinner tonight was beef and broccoli w/ steamed brown rice. DELISH! The flavors were awesome and I really wanted to go back for seconds but that's not allowed so I made it without but it was tough. This will be on our menu again for sure.

Our evening snack was 220 calories. We had four petite fours. I had ordered them from Swiss Colony before Christmas and thought they would be here for company but they weren't as they arrived today. I hate to waste money so we will be having them as snacks. Tomorrow at one point we will have 1 truffle as it's about 220 calories by itself.

I did have an extra lindt truffle which was not expected today but my blood sugar took a dive between 3 and 5 with the work I had been doing and I needed some fast sugar. I know a serving size of them is 3 and I only had 1.

So today ends day 6 of following the program and working out. 6 days of the shred and I have survived! I have made it this far and I will make it farther. I love love love how I feel. I do have more energy than I have had in a long time and I feel a lot better about myself.

The food scale I ordered should be here in another three weeks. BOOO! When I picked the one I had it said it would be available to ship in 2-3 days but today when I looked my status had changed to 3-4 weeks. BOO! Oh well not much I can do about it right now. I really can't wait until it's here though.

1/2/09 Part 1

Last night was so relaxing Roo slept all night which means that I got a full night of solid sleep. I woke up feeling sooooooooooo good!

For breakfast we had the, egg, bacon, cheese english muffin again. I really wanted to use them up before they went bad. It was delish as it was before. Roo preferred the egg, but the muffin went away at some point.

Snack was cottage cheese with mandarin oranges. This is always a favorite of mine. I fixed two bowls one for me, one for Roo. Mine was apparently better because she came over and ate mine but didn't want to touch hers. Silly girl!

Lunch was a spinach salad, w/ feta, tomato, mandarin oranges, and chicken. It was to be served w/ a balsamic vinigarette dressing. I changed mine though because I didn't have a balsamic dressing. I had used a precooked chicken breast from schwans that had a spicy coating. I mixed a little fat free sour cream, a dash of milk, and some franks buffalo sauce and used that as my dressing. I will definitely do that again as it was DELISH!!!!! Roo had the elements of the salad minus the spinach she ate all her chicken and got a little bit of the leftover meatloaf from yesterday.

Snack this afternoon is the texas caviar with baked tostitos. I can't wait and I know Roo can't either.

Workouts for today are to include lower body weights and of course day 6 of the shred. I have also done some major house cleaning today as in I've been cleaning for about 4 hours with only a couple of breaks so that is going to count for something.

Since this is also our year for cleaning the house out of what is not used or needed I have made some major strides on getting into closets and getting rid of at least half of what is in each of them. 2009 is my year!

1/1/09

My first post of the day WOW! So let's recap the day and see if I was successful.

Sleep last night HA HA HA! We went to sleep at 12:10 and woke up at 2 with a screaming baby. Dennis got pushed out of bed to deal with that one but I didn't fully get back to sleep until he was back and she was asleep. She woke us up at 7 and after I went up and brought her downstairs I went back to bed and slept for another hour or so. I woke up to sounds of breakfast being made in the kitchen. YUM!

Breakfast was an apple sundae. It was supposed to be apple yogurt but we couldn't find that so we used plain yogurt that Dennis sweetened and added a drop of vanilla to as well. Then a small apple was cut up and distributed among the three bowls. Some raisins were added as well as grapenuts. It was a delicious breakfast and one we will definitely do again.

We then went shopping and went to Target and got wrapping paper. We then went to Sports Authority and stocked up on free weights. We got a set of 4, 5, 6, 8, and 10 pounds. We got to use our $25 off coupon so although we spent 100 we saved 25 somewhere. They are now parked in the living room floor ready for us to use them which we already have tonight!

We came home and had our snack which was an english muffin melt which was 1 english muffin, some cheddar cheese that lightly covered the english muffin and then we split a tomato between the 3 english muffins which were split into 6 slices. It was then broiled until the muffin was a little toasted. Super delicious and again will be seen on future menus. The problem with snack today was that it was at noon instead of 10 so I was HUNGRY! Super super super hungry but I kept my resolve ate my muffin and waited to lunch.

Of course lunch was started immediately LOL! We had barbecue meat loaf which was ground turkey, onion, oatmeal, salt, pepper, worstechire sauce, egg whites, milk, and then bbq sauce on top. We had that with black eyed peas and broccoli slaw that had marinated in low fat sesame ginger dressing. OMG OMG OMG this was so flipping good. I loved each bite. The black eyed peas were for good luck for 2009 and lots of health and wealth. Since 2009 is my year I made sure to eat plenty!

Our afternoon snack was something called Texas Caviar and was black beans, corn, homemade pico de gallo, and some red wine vinegar. It was served with 1 serving of baked tostitos. YUM YUM YUM! Dennis said we need to keep that in the fridge all the time and I really agree with him it was GOOD!

Dinner was half of a turkey sandwich, w/ laughing cow, a piece of swiss, and a piece of turkey w/ spinach and a couple of olives. I wanted banana peppers but we were out. I need to remedy that tomorrow!

Our evening snack was fat free and sugar free pudding with one graham cracker. Ours wasn't exactly fat free because I didn't have ff milk in the fridge and used what I had but ya know what it was still good.

Workouts today was my cardio push day and I did 30 minutes on the elliptical. 15 was at a 20 degree incline, 15 was at the 30 degree incline. Then I did the shred with Dennis. The shred is KICKING MY TAIL! It is sooooooooo hard but I am noticing a difference already in how it was easier tonight than it was on Sunday when we started. I think I might go upstairs again and do more on the elliptical or else I will do some yoga. Oooo yoga I have a new video of that hmmmmm I think it's time to log off and go relax. :)

So was today successful yes it was. Today was the first day of the rest of my life and the first day of 2009 and it was a success. Next year at this time I am going to be sitting here reflecting on the past year and will be enjoying my smaller size jeans, and a lower weight. Even if it's only 5 pounds lower it will be lower. :)
